Hearing that Huskies WR target, 4* Rome Odunze, will be making his commit announcement sometime this weekend.
Appears it's down to Washington and Oklahoma for his choices.

Rome Odunze said he had work commitments come up this weekend, and will be making an announcement around 6:30 tomorrow.

Not sure at this point whether to believe these rumors or not.
We'll see. Signs were looking good for a commit from him to the Huskies.

I can't find anything on his twitter about when he's announcing.

Not shocking at all. It was a strong year for in-state and west coast offensive talent, and it was very thin at Defensive talent this year. You could do some reaches on players if you want, but I think a lot of them have ceilings that don't have much more to rise besides the select blue-chippers out there. The huskies made some offers, but many went elsewhere when they considered who was already on the roster and last years recruit class. I don't blame them for that.

The Huskies did exceptionally well at defensive recruiting with few wiffs the past two seasons with defense. They can afford to be very selective with D recruits this year, go quality, and those they believe can be developed into solid role players and potential starters down the road. Meanwhile, load up on these offensive gems, a lot of these guys will be playing on saturdays, and helping drop big numbers on the scoreboard. We can go heavy on defense next year to make up for it. We've got the roster to deal with this right now.

I would still like to see them land at least 1-2 more LBs, 3 more DBs, and at least 1 DE and 1 DT for this class. But I'm sure they're working on it. But as offensive goes, talk about completely knocking it out of the park on a historical level, and to think what next years class could look like with all the local beasts who are juniors this year.

Huskies are on a total role right now with recruiting and definitely striking hot while USC is dealing with it's struggles. USC won't always be down like this, so take advantage of that while you can.

Dear lord, is the WR corps gonna be loaded top to bottom next year. Whoever is the QB is going to be living the dream with those weapons on the roster.

I wonder if this kid stays home.

Both him and Smalls were the two I believed most likely to commit elsewhere. Hector has been very hard to read and he's been very quiet when it comes to things.

Hope both would stick around, but at this point, both could wait till Nov/ Dec to make their announcements.

I've always been somewhat skeptical on Hector because I read somewhere that his dad played at USC. The recent struggles by the Trojans aside, USC will always be a sexy option for West Coast recruits. I can't recall what the market was like for head coaches this offseason, but I do believe the Trojans messed up by not firing Clay Helton. I don't expect him to do anything this year that will change the perception of him and I'd be stunned if something drastically changed.

The WR battle next year will be really exciting to watch. Quinten Pounds, Chico McClatcher, Andre Baccellia and Aaron Fuller will all be graduating. By my count the Huskies will have 6 WRs on campus who were 4* recruits (Spiker, Osborne, Lowe, Nacua, McMillan and Odunze) plus Ty Jones who will be a senior.

I believe SC screwed themselves the year before when UCLA took the flashy choice of Kelly! I think SC wanted him to be the replacement to Clay so they thought Chip would still be there after last season! News flash SC your head job ain’t as in demand as it use to be!
