If only he spoke English.
It's an adjustment to the early signing date now. Most teams are building their classes earlier. And Petersen has said it's not exactly optimal for how he traditionally likes to recruit and land the verbals. For the schools where academics matter, they're having to take some gambles that their targets are committed to the school work and athletic development by only the end of their junior seasons. My memory could be failing me, but I don't recall any time in the Petersen-era in which we already had 18 commitments before the first game. I'd say there are two great things about this:
1. Early commitments mean they're definitely invested in the program.
2. The coaches likely won't have to dedicate as much time recruiting and scouting players throughout the season. I don't know how much that eats into their time commitment, but if a position coach already has all of his recruiting wrapped up it can open time up for other things.

But he said it is what it is, and they"ll adjust as they have to make it work.
In some ways it is a gift horse because we're winning 10+ games a season now, and last year win the pac and went to the rose bowl. It's not like we have beg right now. Players want to be Huskies, few will be able to wait till Nov and Dec anymore to string things out.
