Correcting BK on the daily
Have we ever had anyone from the University of Georgia who hasn’t been hurt or missed significant time??
Malcolm Mitchell
Isaiah Wynn
Sony Michel
David Andrews
The Patriots announced their new veteran's numbers on Tuesday as the team wraps up their virtual offseason with an eye toward training camp at the end of next month.
Rookies remain numberless at this time, though in recent years the team has given them initial numbers starting at 50 and going upward for the first few weeks of training camp.
Here are where you'll find the newest vets on the roster:
- 2 - QB Brian Hoyer
- 10 - WR Damiere Byrd
- 13 - WR Marqise Lee
- 21 - S Adrian Phillips
- 22 - S Cody Davis
- 45 - FB Danny Vitale
- 52 - LB Brandon Copeland
- 94 - DT Beau Allen
Considering his injury history I think a home town discount was in order. This is the year that Damien Harris breaks through and becomes the next (insert great Pats Utility player here). Rex will be there to keep Damien fresh.
This is James White's final year of his rookie contract. Think he heads to TB next year??
I think this discussion should continue until Brady comes back... Oh wait, It ain't happening. The sports media is finally starting to turn a corner in Boston. There was a period of mourning when Brady left and there was shock when Cam Newton was signed. Then there was some resignation after Cam's signing was finally accepted. Needless to say, it's been tough watching any sports media on the tube until today.
Someone asked question and it stopped Zolack and Bertrand in their tracks. Here it is, "If the Patriots had offered Tom Brady 2 years and $60M would he have signed with the Patriots? If he did, would the patriots have cut all of their wide receivers that Brady said couldn't get separation? From thastpoint on the lines were stacked and everyone had an opinion. A lot of people don't think that Brady would have come back even if the Patriots had made that big an offer. Most people felt that he wasn't happy with his WRs last year and by signing him, there was no way that the patriots could have signed any WRs that would be any better.
It continued into Felger and Mazz this afternoon and there appears to be a growing segment that was not happy with Brady saying that he froze out WRs last year, even when they were open.
That discussion got more than a few media types outside of Boston calling the Boston media and a whole new conversation has now taken over. Is Cam Newton going to be better with the Patriots offense than Tom Brady would have been? After all, Cam is 12 years younger, and 12 times as fast a runner. He's 12 times more likely to just take off and run with the ball than Brady. McDaniels is 12 times more likely to put a few QB draws and QB Options in the offense now that both Newton and Stidham can run. The Patriots QBs are 12 times less likely to just throw the ball away and 12 times more likely to throw the ball while running. Finally, these two QBs are 12 times more likely not to just drop down if the pocket collapses.
This all started to come out with Tom Curran on NBC Sports Early Edition tonight. So now there's a group of media who believe that the Patriots' offense just might be improved regardless whether cam or Jarrett is the QB when the season starts. When there is literally nothing factual to write about, it is incredible what these guys can do to perk up fan interest.
Discussion anyone??

Discussion anyone??
$60M guaranteed? Yeah, he’d’ve taken that. $60M with the same amount guaranteed in the offer they made him last summer? No.
Would they cut all the WR’s? No that’s asinine...where would they get the money to completely revamp the WR corps after giving $30M to Brady and taking cap hits to get rid of Edelman and Harry?
Also Brady never said he froze WR’s out last year (assuming you’re referencing the Stern interview...if you’ve got another direct quote to that effect please substantiate)
