He is in an expiring deal. And he is playing himself into a nice contract.

With all the other contracts coming up, maybe they are trying to get something for him before he leaves anyway.

BTW....Hear rumors they are looking at Avery WIlliamson. Granted he is a Jet so I have on clue how good he has been this season but if for a 7th round pick, why not.

Honestly that is the best trade they could make that wouldn't command a ransom. Would be an instant upgrade to the depth, but I would still let Spilly start. Those snaps would come at the expense of UG3.

Avery Williamson officially added to the Steelers 53-man roster; Wisniewski released

Interesting. Wisniewski must have suffered a setback in practice since he was just activated from the reserve/injured list this past Wednesday. Sucks they paid him all that money but oh well, Dotson has proven to be exactly what they needed & more. Wonder if Wis clears waivers & they put him on PS? Doubtful. Experience like his doesn't belong on the PS when the league is thirsty for Olineman.

Also released Trey Edmunds. He will likely end up on the PS.
