Ruggs and Winfield Jr both seem like luxury picks for the Chiefs but I could totally see them making a move on Ruggs. They just don't have a lot of ammo to move up. Ruggs draft range is going to be somewhere between 10-15.

Chiefs being interested in those two sounds like a smokescreen. They drafted a speed WR and a athletic safety last year with their first two picks.

It was my thought as well. I can’t imagine the Chiefs giving up limited resources to move up that high.

FWIW, in both mock drafts I did on this site I took:

2 CBs, 1 RB, 1 OL, and 1 LB.

Imo, the pool of players that the Chiefs could be targeting in rd1 pretty much have to be limited to those positions. (ex: RB1, Queen, AJ Terrell, Fulton, Diggs, Gladney, Ruiz)

This is why I thought a few pre draft trades would happen we'll see.

Hard to make a pre-draft trade unless you are looking to gain draft capital. If you have a player or 2 you like then you have a tentative deal in place, and call it in when the team hits the clock or as soon as your player is gone.

1989 Denver traded #13 for #20 and a 2nd, a 3rd and a 5th and drafted Steve Atwater. Short of Elway trade maybe the best draft day trade in broncos history . Hopefully the trade last year rivals or betters this one.

Random note. I remember during FA last year a player I know that works out with Tevin Coleman, told me Coleman was being pursued by Denver in FA. Kind of shows ya that even last year we were looking to add that pass catching, different style, between the tackles runner to go with Linsday before we even signed Gordon.
