Denver likes Purcell fine as that 0/1 in base. He's effective in his role. Really little value as a pass rusher but as a pure base nose he clogs up lanes well. Where Denver is extremely thin is an IDL that can play at 4/4i/5 tech in base and kick in to 1/3 tech in sub. Last year they had three guys that fit that role in varying degrees in Shelby, Gotsis, and Wolfe. Now they have legit 0. Don't think Jones nor Walker can hold up at 3-4 DE (4/4i/5 tech in base)

I want someone that can blow up plays from the middle of the field not holds up. Our run D is not that great.

We should have lost more games Teams don't stay with the RG when they should.

I know PFF isn't the end all be all but Purcell earned the highest run stuffing grade of any defensive lineman in football last year.

They really need a guy who can play 5 tech and kick inside in sub. A yeti.

Todd McShay's latest Mock Draft has the Denver Broncos' selecting one of the more productive wide receivers coming out of the Draft in Oklahoma's CeeDee Lamb.
I breakdown what he would bring to the table and why the pick would make sense for the Broncos.
Oklahoma WR CeeDee Lamb Mocked to Broncos at Pick 15 by ESPN's Todd McShay

Double dip at WR in the first 100. If Kindlaw or Wirfs is there I'd prefer the lineman . Not the sexy pick but Wirfs can come in day one and be paired with Risner at the G position and move next year if/when Bolles or James departs.

Pay defense and draft offense.

I'm with you on Wirfs. I'm PROBABLY with you on Kinlaw. But in this draft, neither were there.

Couldn't agree more. Young, Okudah, Brown, Kinlaw, and Simmons are the only defensive prospects I would be ok with at 15. Otherwise look at to the OL or WR position and build the defense through FA. Let the young core on offense grow together.

Wirfs would be great pick at 15

Gotta score more points. It normally takes 31 to beat the Chiefs. Denver has to be at close to 27 to make it a game.

I wonder what is the biggest jump in NFL history when it comes to offensive production. 27 a game would be a 10 point jump. I know San Fran made about a 9 point jump this past season. Ravens did about the same.

Just for the Chiefs I think the season average needs to hit 24

That does seem to be the magic number for offense. If you can't hit 24 the odds of even the playoffs are slim. Only the Texans, Packers, and Bills made it to the playoffs averaging less than 24 points. Texans were not in a high powered offensive division with the only the Titans averaging more than 24 points. Bills had a strong defense as did the Packers. With Fangio running the defense though 24 points should be plenty to win at least 9 games and with some luck maybe a couple more.

Obviously we’re not gonna get into the old Peyton Manning shootout style offense but I do wonder if the Offense puts up 27+ points a game how the Defense will do.

At times this year our Defense was great and our Offense didn’t follow suit but as we saw with the Chiefs whose defense did get better towards the end of the year they were in a lot closer games earlier in the year because their defense just couldn’t keep up with how much their offense scored.

I have linked you to other forums .... I do like the pick who was the other WR token before him?

Have seen Jeudy and Ruggs to Denver at 15 as well

Shumur said yesterday that you score by throwing the ball downfield I have seen each of the top 4 WRs mocked to the Broncos. No matter if the Broncos go offense of defense - not looking to draft a QB -- is going to get them a very good player.

It is my belief that teams are going to go on a QB binge early in this draft.

It is also nice to think this draft is deepest in the positions the Broncos would seem to want to get better or younger at.

I am afraid if we get the Offense to 27+ points a game that the Defense will be sacrificed to get there. It is rare to be really good on both sides of the ball.

The Broncos have a 3-year window here to have both sides of the ball playing at a very high level before Chubb and Lock are due for big contracts. And really this offseason is setting up well for the Broncos. Free Agency is looking like it could be loaded and wow Broncos have lots of cap space to spend. The draft is loaded in offensive talent when it comes to WR and OL which hey again is exactly what the Broncos need. So they have a chance to really improve both sides of the ball.

Yes if Denver can be at 24/19 or +5 that's 10-11 wins territory however if the O is closer to 22 ppg they need to atleast increase their huge chunk plays (30+) from 19 to maybe 24/25 or 1.5 a game. KC led with 32 . NYG had 24. The more aggresive the O is scoring the more aggressive the D can become. Can't have 12-15 play drives . Need more 3-4 play drives even if they end in a FG.
