LOL. I see a bunch of 50+ year olds driving Vettes
I can clue you in on something....
Vettes are not made for 50 year olds in mind. I've owned 2 in my lifetime. Lost the last one in the flood of 2016.
The first one I owned was a 69 Stingray. It was rough and in bad shape. Lost a T-Top at 85 mph one day and could not find a replacement after several months. Sold the car for parts. Was 25 at that time.
In 1993 when I was in my late 20s, I bought a '88 Vette. 35th anniversary edition. Less than 10,000 miles. Thought it would be worth something some day so I bought it and hardly drove it. Kept the fucking thing for over 20 years and then the rains came....Had it in my hot rod shop when the floods came.
Because it had not been driven in so long I was unable to start it. Dead battery. Didn't have time to swap batteries out so couldn't move it to higher ground because the water was rising too fast.
Tried to push it out the shop....tires weren't "round" anymore....had not moved the car in over ten years.
So we jacked it up in place and put jack stands under it in the hopes it would stay dry....didn't work. Still got about 9" to a foot of water in it.
Insurance paid it off but not what it was really worth. Lost my ass on that investment.
I hardly ever drove the car because they, Vettes, are very fucking uncomfortable to drive if you are over 40. You are practically laying down while in a vette. Not a very comfortable position to be in for any length of time....trust me!
Vettes are small. A lot smaller than folks are aware of. Park a Vette next to a Mustang....Mustang looks huge!
I like the new Vette....looks nice. If only I were in my 30s again....
