Calhoun not having a starting position with the Rangers is an organizational failure. It should have happened at some point last year.

The problem is he doesn't play defense very well at any position. Neither does Choo. So if you're going to get rid of Choo, it's probably going to have to be to an American league team. And that cuts out half the league.

Contract is a huge albatross. We can’t make this team good until he’s long gone.

He has worked on his defense. But he's still not good defensively. Even though he has hit well in the minors, he hasn't hit well the times he has been called up or this spring training. It's obvious that the Rangers unwilling to eat any of Choo's contract or he would have been moved by now.

No matter how you slice it, it is a mistake to have someone like Choo in the lineup this season over someone like Calhoun.

I realize they are unwilling to trade Choo for one reason or another. That is a big organizational mistake.

Even if they would gave traded Choo, and he would have hit .300 this year for another team, and Calhoun would have played everyday up here and hit .220 it would have still been the right thing to do.

In his last 99 AB Calhoun hit .222, even though he was hitting .275 when he was getting regular playing time.

In hit last 100 AB last year Choo hit .180.

Calhoun only hit .217 this spring. Didn't help himself none. I'm interested to see if Choo struggles and hits around .200 or below, if the Rangers will call up Calhoun and play him. Would remind me of Rua. Would call him up and not play him.
