And in all honesty, I don't know what people are talking about the lack of defense....

Green, an excellent wing defender and was a very solid pickup.....will start at SG and provide shooting and defense.

Bradley has lost the weight he gained as a pudge-ball with the Clipps and has always been a solid defender at the very least. He's going to be motivated to get another payday in 2 years so he has the extra motivation.....

McGee, not the best overall defender.....but a solid rim protector.....

AD, he has always been a good defender in addition to being a scorer and rebounder.

KCP is basically known for his defense.....

James can still dial it up for short stretches, like in crunch time...

Caruso won't see many minutes (unless injuries hit) but he is a scrappy defender.....and showed a lot late in the season.

Can we start the season now????

I think they'll be better than some think, especially if Vogel can develop a scheme that allows them to hide their weaknesses some.

In comparing them to the Clips...the Lakers look to be the better offensive team, while the Clips look to be the better defensive team.

The gap between the offenses is smaller than the gap between defenses.

I agree....

The Lakers offense can be really potent with a possible lineup of

James
Green
Kuz
AD
Cousins

Lot of firepower.

Vogel has already repudiated this notion that James is going to be the opener point guard. Recent speculation on the opening day starting five has recently been suggested as:

Bradley PG
Green SG
James SF
AD PF
Cousins C

I like it because of its versatilty and all the options to go with.

Well, I'm glad we have Lebron, AD and made what look to be some very good signings that should make us, not only a playoff team, but an actual, legit contender for the first time since the last title.

But, I also have to say that I kind of miss having a reason to want to watch the Lakers summer league team. lol

Me too. I had no reason to watch the team in suumer for the first time in 3 years. We have not had an offensive low post center that can do it all since Kareem. This team will be hard to defend.

If I end up moving to Montana later this year......I will be doing the color commentary for this team while @Retroram52 does the play by play. during live games....if we can bring him out of semi-retirement.....

They have Spectrum in Montana so I'll have all the games....

Should be a fun year with this revamped roster and all of the talent we now have.

Jerry West is getting even in a subtle fashion against his treatment by the Buss brats.

Speaking of HELL NO, another article has surfaced that has, not only Dwightmare entertaining returning to LA (in his mind only), but J.R. Smith returning to the Lakers once Cleveland releases him. Cleveland released him but his career is done and the Lakers have no interest in this stiff as well as the other stiff Carmelo Anthony. Who they may have interest in is Korver or Iguodala once the latter clears waivers.

Don't know tomodach. We have enough money left for a vet league minimum ($9.7 mill in cap space) but I don't know if Iggy would sign for that. Korver might.

I like that he tells it like it is, at least how it is for him.

West clearly wanted to end his Career with the Lakers, however the Lakers wanted to go in a different direction, so it's not his fault he has the opportunity to see things from a different perspective.

Also West didn't elevate the Clippers organization above the Lakers, rather states 'no better', which puts them on equal footing regarding the Organizations, and is complementary to the Lakers organization in this piece you've linked.

Fact is, as hard as is may be for a lot of us Lakers fans to admit, the Clippers Organization has worked hard to compete with the Lakers, and their Organization's leadership is one area where they have made leaps and bounds, especially since the Sterling exodus. Meanwhile during that time, the Lakers' leadership has been in turmoil, and subject of much fodder with all the talking heads.

The Lakers definitely have enough for Korver. Not sure about Iggy. Not sure he'll be released anyway.

The Lakers also win for depth though, another factor to mix in.

I'd stay away from Korver too. 38 years old and his shooting percentages dipped last season; he could be washed too.

Could?

He's totally washed. He's already hanging out to dry
