Didn't he hit a mammoth homer up at Fenway? A bomb if I remember well....Kong!
Remember when the Yanks had him for about a week? I think he hit about 5 HRs before they flipped him again.

I'll tell Willie Randolph to wait by the phone.....His call is coming also.....and Frank White
best defensive 2b of his era
They should just leave a bottle of scotch and crayons with TLR so he can make his selections.....When he's not passed out at a traffic light of course.....Led the league in SLG as many times as Harold Baines did, plus led the league in HR twice.
Shoo-in.
Extra credit: TLR was his manager at the end of his last season in baseball.
Agreed. he was probably taking them himself. He pitched most of his career in a lineup loaded al east during the steroid era.
LOL...Frank white couldn't hit worth a shit...lifetime 85 OPS+and Frank White

Randolph had a 104 OPS+...also not getting in, but his numbers were very solid and had a great eye.....His #1 comp is Bill Mazeroski, he of the lifetime 84 OPS+, and a HOFer.

An 85 OPS+ isn't bad for a 2nd baseman, but I don't think he's close to HOF worthy.
How is Harold Baines a HOF'ER? He never gor more than 6.1 percent votes from the writers. Reinsdorf, Larussa, and others who coached probably took all the voters out for steaks and drinks. Baines in and no Edgar Martinez? The HOF is getting watered down.
If they don't want to let Edgar in the hall that's one thing but if they keep him out and a steroid user in that is nothing short of injustice and a crime
Bill Ballou: Mariano Rivera not getting this writer's Hall of Fame vote
He doesn't want to be the reason Mo doesn't unanimously makes it, so he doesn't vote. Stupid.
After he's dead, definitely. Lifetime ban, he agreed to it for a very good reason.
he states that any MLB pitcher could save games and he sees no difference between Rivera and any other closer. He then used Kimbrel's playoffs this year to try and show that Rivera was not that special. I understand the argument that saves are a meaningless stat, but to say that that is all Rivera was is stupid.
