I'm not a Cali "native" but I've been through there briefly once after spending a 3 day weekend of hiking & camping in Joshua Tree NP years ago. I could see it as a decent place for a concert and there's lots of wide open space. I recall there wasn't much to do there other than checking out the rustic scenery. It's like the remains of an old western town. I'm pretty sure it's been used as a shooting location for TV shows & movies in the past. Have concerts been held there before?

Ya, the Stoned and Dusted deal is annual. (Put on by Brandt Bjork) Pretty sure a lot of Desert Rock bands play there fairly often.

Two day show. First is at Pappy & Harriet's...tiny ol western bar, and the second night is actually just out in the Mohave Desert/Joshua Tree area somewhere. Haven't pulled the trigger on the second nite, yet, as I'm old and unsure if I can handle two days of face-melting.

Cisco Kid was filmed there, and many others. Rumored to have legends just pop in there for random shows, like Paul McCartney, Robert Plant en sech.

Should be a bucket of fun.

Going to see Clutch with Big Business opening.

Stoked to see Big Business. Seen Clutch dozens of times. Try to catch em' yearly. Great live band.

I've seen them 3x and haven't heard "Spacegrass" live yet. Good live band, but the sound quality of the vocals depends on which venue they play.

I can't even remember how many times I've seen em'. I don't know how long it's been since you've last seen em', but I haven't seen a bad show from them in the last decade, and that includes in some pretty dumpy venues.

Be my first time seeing Big Business, except for when they were with the Melvins.

To be fair, I've hated the venue where I saw them the first 2 times. I've experienced poor vocals almost every show I've seen in that venue, from any concert.

Saw them in 2009, 2013, 2015. They're not in my area during this current tour.

But I know they tour frequently, so it will probably be soon.

went and saw Titus Andronicus and Bob Mould at 9:30 club in DC. Really went to see TA but I didn't get out of work until late and missed most of their set, which pissed me off.

Mould was good though. He is a fucking rocker to the core. Nonstop for a 58 yr old punk rocker. Really enjoyed it.

Did he do any of his old Hüsker Dü stuff?
