Simmons is good to go if the season returns KD looking like a slim possibility.

Interesting

This is why I use Bleacher as a reference more than an actual reliable resource or providing any real ranking list.

Hakeem too low. D-Rob I love you but above Hakeem is laughable.

Wilt too low.

Bill Russell TOO HIGH.

Steph too high for me at this point.

Harden and Pippen too high.

Dolph Schayes...cmon. Nobody saw that fucker play. He would probably be a poor man Draymond or some role like that.

Bill Walton too high

It's not crazy. David Robinson might not have been a colorful personality, but he was absolutely an incredible player. Higher TS% than Hakeem (58.3% compared to 55.3%) and slightly higher Rebounding%, Assist%, and Block%. Hakeem slightly higher Steal%. David Robinson also has more win shares and has a significantly higher box score plus minus figure.

I am surprised that Steph is this high. Many analysts, fans, and younger players seem to love him, but it seems like a lot of the older players and retired players hate him.

Love Steph's game and a big fan of his. But he's not, nor will he ever be considered top 10.

Kobe at 14 is a joke, and Steph shouldn't be above him either. Kobe should be above Bird (I'd put Kobe around 7/8) and knock Russell out of the top 10.

Curry now, probably not top ten
But he's still putting up numbers for years presumably, what if he ends up top ten in scoring plus best all time shooter plus 4-5 rings and 2 MVPs? Just saying top ten is possible but you are right, Kobe too low. Hard to argue Bird much lower but 5 too high. I think Wilt is too low also.
Russell too high but not by much.

These lists are pretty hard after the top 4.

Walton at 39 is ridiculous

Yeah, if we're talking a basketball top 50, then you have to include Walton because his college years were amazing and the couple healthy seasons that he had in the NBA show how great he could have been.

It's not his fault because of the injuries, but imo, he doesn't have enough healthy seasons to be on an NBA top 50 list.

Adrian Dantley = Carmelo Anthony

Dantley leaves LA... title
Dantley leaves Utah...they actually learn how to win a playoff series
Dantley leaves Detroit... title.

A pattern?

Melo is a great comparison for him. Dude was an amazing scorer, but he was more about "getting his" than he was about winning.

Curry's a top 20 player to me. I need to see it from both ends of the court. Something that often doesn't get discussed with the top 10 players that are universal in most people's lists is that most of them were good defenders. Curry by no means is horrible, but he's not exactly elite by any means.

Agree on pretty much everything else.

Yeah, it's hard to know what to do re: Curry's defense. It's certainly not that he doesn't try ala guys like Harden.

He knows how to play, he moves his feet, he's usually in the right position. He just isn't big enough.

Curry's D really isn't that bad. His career defensive box plus minus (DBPM) is at least a positive number at 0.4, but yeah, I'm pretty sure that everyone else in the top 30 in the list above scores higher on DBPM. Poor Steve Nash has a negative DBPM.

His offensive box plus minus is great, though, causing his overall BPM to come in at 11th all time, just behind Kevin Durant who is 10th.

His overall impact for his team is great and one of the best in history. I guess the best thing you can say about his defense is that he works hard, can get a fair number of steals, and that the Warriors rated top 5 in defense 4 straight seasons, which included a first place and second place ranking. If he were a huge defensive liability, the team wouldn't rate that high considering how many minutes Curry plays.

Yep, that's what I was getting at. He's not a bad defender, he just isn't very big and that can be used against him.

He's good on the perimeter and against guys around his size. But bigger guys give him trouble. Especially close to the hoop.

Brandon Ingram has the same issue. He knows how to play defense, he tries hard on defense and is effective on the perimeter. But bigger guys bump him with their shoulder and it moves him back 2 feet. lol

Walton at 39 is ridiculous

Great impact whenever he played, but with less than 500 games played in the NBA, it's hard to justify ranking him as number 39 all time in the NBA.

He's hard to judge having played with Michael all those years

What I will say is I can remember to this day that I didn't want to hear another word about Pippen being an all timer after his bad finish to the series in the 99/00 Western finals. Granted we are talking 34 year old Scottie but damn that was a choke

I was still pretty fresh in my Bulls hate then though lol

Never said D-Rob wasn't great, he was an all-time great and a freak but this is more about Hakeem. He was a once in a lifetime freak...even in today's game we will likely never see a player like Hakeem. Robinson is fine where he is on the list..no problem. Hakeem should be higher though. Plain and simple.

95 WCF's a 32 year old Hakeem absolutely dominated putting up 35,13,5 and 5 bpg on a PRIME Robinson. He had no answer. That is all I am saying, there is absolutely no reason to have Robinson over Hakeem when they are at back to back spots...just didn't make sense to me but it's Bleacher Report, the list isn't horrible but far from stellar.
