The US has tested 10,000 people total.
Flights are landing and no screening is happening.

Why do you think the markets have crashed
Why have schools been canceled
All sports are shut down.

You talking about the travel ban when you say closing the border? It's already here so I don't see how that really helps much of anything. Bans would have been effective like 7 weeks ago, not now. That's time and resources that could be better diverted to other areas that could help. Plus, the ban itself is a mixed bag with UK and Ireland exempt for some odd reason, some people still being allowed in, and those coming in aren't tested but only screened (asked simple questions of "have you been to Italy?").
