To be fair to him, East and West seems pretty even so far

1 great team in each conference followed by 4 or 5 really good teams then a lot of mediocre and bad teams after that.

7 teams over .500 in the East and 6 in the West

I think East is ahead 72-70 right now.

I do think we can put to rest the whole West dominates idea. They are close enough to even now, which is what people say they wanted and were coming up with all sorts of crazy playoff changes to try to 'fix'

He's well liked in NBA circles, but more people just need to say Alvin Gentry isn't a good head coach. The Pelicans are terrible. It doesn't matter what his roster is, his teams consistently underdeliver

Well to be fair, Tatum was going to be the main guy in that deal and that was the main reason they didn't make the trade.

I think the main reason they really didn't even try was AD made it clear he would not stay or at least would not commit to stay.

I'm sure the fact he was hesitant led the Celtics to not want to deal the kind of haul the Lakers did

Conversely Love may have stayed and he would have cost much less

But still more than he would cost now

That was also a big factor but I remember hearing the haul was also just too much as well, both were the 2 biggest factors.

Lakers somehow winning games playing like shit and sloppy, can't keep doing this though with the high TO's and shooting bad from deep. Maybe they can be one of those teams that turns it on vs better competition but they are coming up on a tough stretch soon. We will see.

He's been there, what, 6 to 8 months? No. Gentry on the other hand, routinely has teams that underperform. That's happened regardless of what team he is on

He doesn't do much for me, but seemed like NO got better his first few years until the Davis debacle last season. So far in the AD deal only took back one starter.

Point in all this is too early to call the Love signing good or bad or say if signing helps or hurts his value. Never mind if they didn't sign him it's possible he'd have no value to the cavs as he might have walked.
