So basically the owners aren't willing to lose any money?

I don't know what their books look like but 80 percent pay cuts for half a season is pretty wild.
Guessing they will be losing money regardless. Probably want to mitigate their losses. Also doubt their best offer was made first.

I mean, if it's true they lose more playing the season with no fans than just not playing can you really blame them for not wanting to pay the players less?

This is exactly what I was trying to say the other day.

People get too caught up in the actual numbers and think “man, that is a lot of money”.

But giving up this much at the negotiating table could have a lasting impact in the labor battle for years. Only way I see the players even considering a deal like this is if they are given some long term concessions in their favor beyond 2020.
Pretty sure the owners don't expect them to consider this deal. I suspect they believe a counter will come.

Only way to get the owners to stop being dicks
not playing? I doubt they'd be willing to take nothing as opposed to something.

Guessing owners might say the same about the cap.....only way to get the players to accept it would be lock down the sport until they do.

Only trouble there, of course, is not all owners want a cap.

The baseball union is the only one with any power in sports. They will do what they need to.

Yeah.

And I am not condoning any type of police behavior with this comment.

But I can understand how a well intentioned police officer could make a mistake and shoot somebody they shouldn’t have in the heat of the moment.

Choking the life out of somebody over the course of 10 minutes +?

Hell no. No justifying that.

Agree. Police officers are trained extensively re: when, where and how to use their guns.

But, at the end of the day, that is still a human being making a split second life or death decision. If they make the wrong one, maybe they kill someone who shouldn't have been or maybe they don't get to go home to their family. That's a lot to have to process in a second.

But there was plenty of time to put a stop to what was going on. Someone else, not sure if it was an officer or paramedic (had a different color uniform) walked over and appeared to check the guys pulse, then just walked away.

I figured you'd go the "this is why no one likes you here" reply, but that works, too, I guess......better than saying what is painfully obvious. Neither you nor the actual player have a clue about the CBA and what owners have wanted.

ok that confirms it, you are stupid. Hey dumbass, I never said anything about the CBA, not a fn word. I guess I can call Matt Joyce and lecture him, would that makes you happy? I expect no because that is where the being dropped on your head part comes in.

So maybe Kaep had a point.

Wizards' John Wall says he's '110%' but still working at rehab

Well I call bullshit on this. It's impossible to be at 110%.

Papa Ball once won the dunk contest by dunking from the 3 point line. I don't remember what number he wore. But all teams should retire it.

Well, at 1 point he might have been the fastest player in the league with the ball in his hands.

So that means I should expect him to come back even more explosive and with a better jump shot, right?

Pretty sure that's what 110% means.

It was 111
Because he's one percent better than everyone else
