Last night we had 19 turnovers and 6 take aways. I can almost guarantee we will not win tomorrow if we duplicate those numbers.

And I was surely thinking of you @lasgop8 . JvR brought it. And he will bring it again for game 6.
He brought it??

He had 1 shot and 2 hits and an empty net goal that he almost screwed up by shooting it at the goalie instead of the net.

I guess for him thats bringing it. :dhd:

Huuuuuuuuge difference between the last two games is we had 53 hits last night.

Thats right 53. Finally showed some fight.

I didn't check the box score at the end, but I did notice during the game that number was climbing pretty fast. I think we had 35 or so after the 2nd and I thought of you haha

It shows the Isles we arent going down without a fight. I hope we do the same next game and they start taking runs at our guys and we can get a PP or 2 .

If our defense doesn't find a better way to be more physical down low, then poor Hart is gonna have his work cut out for him. Las mentioned 19 turn overs, thats not a good stat at all especially when 95% of it is coming out of your zone.

True 19 turnovers is only good if you have 30 takeaways. Hopefully we clean that up starting tomorrow.

I tried to go back and look at what our average is per game during the playoffs, it's gotta be over 10 a game. That's a big obstacle to over come plus all the other things that go on. Unnecessary extra exertion is not good and wears a team down faster if their always chasing back in their zone.

The other issue is no one is cleaning house defensively, their forwards are def not afraid to dump and chase especially if they know they'll win 90 % battles.

So I know it's early and I mentioned this last night, I'm sure we all agree we need at least one more solid dman(preferably a vet) who can hit and play. I was thinking Buflgyien(sp) or somebody of that caliber. Not sure who else will be available. Any thoughts?

If that happens we should probably decline the penalties :tsk:

I’d rather see them continue to grow Haggs to be that guy.

I don't know if they need to add someone from outside, they would be better served with Sanheim/Myers adding some bulk I think. I'm hopeful that this experience will move them in that direction. It's definitely apparent.

There's also Morin too, though at this point I don't know what kind of future he has. Essentially taking 2 years off and he was already behind the curve a bit to be a consistent NHL-er. But who knows.

I'm not totally opposed to adding someone, but money is going to be tight I think. I think it would require trading Ghost, which I'm not totally opposed to doing either, but hopefully for the right deal.

Hitting the gym for these guys is a must. But even so we could stand to lose Braun and trade Ghost to shore things up until all these guys either reach their potential or are replaced by better talent. Can't hurt having another solid dman, it's where it's hurting us the most right now IMO.

Hagg is never going to be that guy. He'll be solid but his play now is about where it's going to stay IMO.
Big Buff 4 goal 27 asists 31 points +4 $6 million
Hagg 3 goals 10 assists 13 points +14 $1.15 million
