May, June it's close enough. I had to stop at one point cause I couldn't decipher where I was on Wolf Creek pass. It's BS. Supposed to be spring mang.

I'd take spring. It's supposed to be 95+ here for the next 5-6 days. :drama:

Why in the world are we paying David Schlemko 2.1 million next year???
He will be sent to the AHL for a $950k cap savings. Anyway, it's still a better contract than Lehtera or MacDonald's.

HockeyBuzz.com - Bill Meltzer - Quick Hits: Wilson, Worlds, Memorial Cup, '75 Cup Clincher and More

Interesting notes from Wilson on some of the Flyers dmen, via an interview with Friedman.

Most interesting parts to me, he thinks Sanheim's offense will increase if/when he moves back to his natural side. And he thinks Provorov was forcing it too much.

I've seen a few places that seem focused on finding Provorov a good partner for the future, and some seem to indicate that good partner for him is more of a defensive stalwart type player; that could allow Provorov to take some risks offensively. To me, I think Provorov is that defensive stalwart type player. I really haven't been overly impressed with his offense. For example, I thought the only time PP2 looked even remotely passable this season, was when Sanheim was QB'ing it. I thought he was better at entries, brings a better shot, and really sparked PP2 for the brief time he was on it.

And that's not a knock on Provorov. I love what he brings to the table and think he's going to be the #1 dman for the Flyers. But as long as Ghost and Sanheim, and possibly even Myers, are on the team; I look at Provorov as the defensive presence on the top pair and PK, not the offense generator. There's a lot of value in being great defensively and being able to move the puck well. See, Marc-Edouard Vlasic.

Which brings up another point that I've been thinking about. I'm not so sure the Flyers NEED a top 4 dman this summer. You're asking a lot of younger players, but if Provorov, Ghost, Myers, and Sanheim play to their potential, isn't that a pretty good top 4? Maybe you spread them over all 3 pairs so it's not a true top 4, but IMO, they all have the capability of being good top 4 dmen. Mix Hagg, Morin, and Gudas in there to balance things out. I don't know, I see a path to their defense being good/great without an addition. IMO, 2C is their biggest hole and should be the primary focus. If you can add Trouba, Karlsson, or Spurgeon, that's RH but also a 'no doubt about it' top 4 guy; I probably support that. But I don't need to add a 'we hope he can be a top 4' type guy, especially not in FA where the contract will suck.

At least we got rid of one bad contract in this move to take back another as Weisse went to the Habs in this trade.

I was watching the worlds and Meyers not only fit in with team Canada he excelled. I may be biased but he looked just as good as anyone they had on defense. So yes i believe the current Flyers we have on defense can be good IF AND ONLY IF they play to their abilities. If they do they will be good but are they a Stanley cup type of defense? That will still have to be answered but we will have to make the playoffs first to find out.

Our 2nd line center that we so sorely need had a goal and an assist last night against Boston. If we cant find i a 2nd line center to replace him this season hes a UFA next season.:dhd:

Not really but our team obviously needs changes and he seems to be the one everyone is talking about being traded.

Damn I did a shitty job on those last 2 quotes lol. My only issue is if we trade him and then he has a awesome season. I say take the odds on him for one more year see if last season was a fluke. If so you could still unload him for something decent. Now if it's a trade of epic proportions and benefits us more than Ghost in the long run then I'd be good with trading him.

He has had a good year every other year in his career so this is the season he is supposed to bounce back and if he does it will be good for us.
