While he chose to take a chance, which I applaud, look at what that chance did. Trying to get 1 win, he cost himself a chance at #8. Trying to win that one race was not worth it.

With that said, I love the Roval. I hope they keep it around.
Meh, Jimmie has ran like shit all season. Even if he would have advanced to the next round, I doubt he would have made it any further.

Yes, the Roval was a success. The only ones who hated it are the ones that haven't enjoyed Nascar in 20 years.

Harvick leads Almirola and Bowyer for a big front row for Stewart-Haas Racing in Dover.

Maybe Peters is still hurt. Marcus Peters just got turned around. Not sure if that's the injury or just bad play, but that was horrible.

Finally Higbee gets another 17 yards and we are marching down the field.

Almirola fucked me over good in fantasy racing. Before his wreck, I had all of my cars in the top 9 (Truex, Almirola, Elliott, Bowman).

"Jeffro says in his fantasy he was fucked good by Almirola"

Not a good look for the future of the #43 team, IMO.

It's seemed like that RPM has been barely hanging on for years now. I'm honestly surprised that they've lasted as long as they have. Although, I don't think that Richard would last long if he couldn't have something going on at the track during race days.

It's not as bad as it sounds. Since they're switching to a totally different rules package for next year, this is the last race these types of cars are going to run. They wrecked their other plate cars earlier in the year so they didn't bother to build a new one that might not ever be used and can't be sold either since it has no use to anyone. For a small team, its a financially sound decision. Race-wise, its not ideal. But it is a plate track. Qualifying doesn't matter. Practice is debatable on how much is actually matters for a crapshoot plate race. Depends on who you talk to. If Bubba just does the bare minimum to ensure he starts the actual race, that's all that matters.

FWIW, instead of building new, I would have bought some cheapass old rig that could make some laps just in case. Kaz Grala in the Xfinity series ran in the top 10 at Daytona in a car that was 10 years old.

I just think it's crazy to not have a backup. A tire can blow out at anytime, especially at speeds of 175+. Like you said, just take a beater down there just in case.

Well, the end maybe very near as the cost and the ability to get enough cash to run a competitive team for RPM has reached its nadir. I suspect that this team will be done pretty soon and if Richard passes, it will definitely be the end.

And more proof that teams overrate aero, practice and any sorts of things when it comes to plate racing; Timothy Peters just won the Dega truck race in a truck that was built in the 90s.

Aero is important. It's just that whatever gains you make scrubbing every little detail on the body with wind tunnel testing gets negated by that darn restrictor plate. Since the field bunches up a ton, most of the race is determined by luck. As an engineer, I know we never like to admit that and we're controlling everything, but its just not the case. You can take on old chassis and run the same basic set ups at Daytona and Dega to get something driveable using your springs, shocks, chassis and everything else that goes into creating mechanical grip. Hang a body on it that is passable when it comes to the drag forces (passable, not some pristine optimal design from the wind tunnel) and you will have a competitive car. It might be the fastest thing out there because all that testing does have value, but "competitive" can get you a win if things break you way (ie LUCK)
