LOI is Feb 7th. About a week and half to go. He was always one of our top choices for DT. He's a perfect fit for the D we run. USC has been stockpiling DTs so its very crowded lately there. Combine that with the bitching from boosters that Helton isnt giving them nattys and the DL coach interviewing for a pro gig.

Fingers crossed all those factors seal the deal. :hope:

Whoops. My bad. Saw conflicting articles about this. Appears hes set to visit next weekend. Which means thats just a few days before LOI.
Looks like the game is afoot.

And watching the game film on this kid makes your mouth drop. Hes a freaking beast.

This would be huge if UW can get him to flip. I have to imagine it's an appealing offer for him because he would definitely get the opportunity to compete for playing time right away.

If we were to land him, he would probably avoid a red shirt and be a day 1 starter if Sam Taimani doesn't beat him out.

Word is he's going to pick UW. Apparently he cancelled dinner with Saban. I think I saw the announcement will be made at 5pm.

Tweet from his father:

Not to get ahead of myself, but if Irvin commits, he would be the fifth 4 star DB to commit to UW in 2 years.

Beautiful late get for the class. Even better, we won out against USC and Bama for him. Serious mojo on that one.

So we also got WDE Jeremiah Martin and DT Tuli Letuligasenoa visiting this weekend.

And the Eason situation.

Its now down to those three as the final potentials for the class.

If I had to call it now, I'm gonna say we have solid odds with Tuli and Jeremiah ultimately ends up at Tex AM or possibly USC.

Eason situation will be worked out in the coming weeks as it creates some complications of a logjam at that position.

With Irvin in, Huskies' class jumps three spots to No. 9 in the @247Sports rankings, No. 1 in the Pac-12. It's the highest-ranked class ever for Chris Petersen + UW's highest-ranked class ever in 247's ranking database, which dates to 2000.

And we might have one or two more woofs coming....:thumb:

Really excited to see what the coaching staff can do with this talent.

I'm not convinced Eason creates or adds to any logjam or complications at QB.

He's a one and done almost certainly which wouldn't lead to whichever of the other two is starter worthy leaving.

Eason sits a year behind Browning and works with Hamdan and his staff before getting one full year to show scouts what he's got.

The winner of Sirmon/Yankoff wins the backup role this year which puts them in solid reps and development. Then they go up against Eason for the starter role in '19 and if they lose it, still have two full years if they didn't redshirt and 3 if they did to play.

He takes up a scholarship for sure, but that's really the only thing his coming does. Whether or not he does come, Yankoff and Sirmon will still be battling to see which one ends up going somewhere else a couple of years from now.

I've said it before, but QB is so far and away the most important position on the field and the one with the most busts that you just have to take every single available option always.

Reports are the visits this weekend by Jeremiah Martin and Tuli Letuligasenoa went awesome. We've done everything we can at this point
Hopefully 1-2 Woofs by Wed coming. Either way, its a historic class and will be amazing to see where we are in 2019-20 with these guys.

Not sure how much this counts for "recruiting" but Jacob Eason is officially transferring to Washington.

Not in any way surprising, nor is it in any way a bad thing for the program or the stability of the QB room.

Best case: Eason sits a year behind Browning and takes over for one season in '19 before leaving for the draft.

Worst case: He doesn't do better than one of the two incoming kids that will back up Browning this year and doesn't end up a starter.

The only thing you are out is another scholarship and for the most important position in the sport. It's just not an issue or problem IMO.

Welcome to Montlake.

Definitely not surprising. Man, the Huskies are going to have one hell of a loaded QB group in 2018. In terms of how highly rated Eason, Sirmon and Yankoff were in HS, this to be one of the best QB groups in UW history. Obviously it doesn't mean anything until they prove it on the field, but with Dylan Morris already being in the next recruiting class, UW is looking really good at the most important position for the foreseeable future.

Given Eason's skill set and the competition he will face, if he earns the starting job and performs well, he could be a top 10 pick.

He struggled at times at Georgia but after watching some of his tape, if he irons out some issues he could be a hell of a QB.
