2017 is done but 2018 began a long time ago. With three commits already in the class, Nebraska already has reached out to a lot of highly rated players for the 2018 class. Here are the ones that seem to be highest on our radar:

1. Brenden Radley-Hiles (4-Star, CB) [Bradenton, FL] - Hiles is good friends with KJJ, Gebbia and is the cousin of Tyjon Lindsey. He transferred to IMG Academy after his junior year (from Calabasas) and loves Lincoln. Nebraska is his leader and he is very likely to be a 5-star player at some point. Multiple analysts say he was the best player on that stacked Calabasas team... that team included 5-star UCLA commit and former Husker target Darnay Holmes.

2. TJ Pledger (5-Star, RB) [Bradenton, FL] - Pledger is another transfer to IMG from out West in California and also has a lot of friends at Nebraska currently and is close to Tyjon Lindsey as well. He and Bookie (Radley-Hiles' nickname) will be teammates and Nebraska will obviously make it a point to Pledger that they haven't had a feature back for three years and they would like him to come in and be that guy. There will be no shortage of suitors for Pledger, but Nebraska is in the mix and his transfer to IMG could even the playing field against a school like USC.

3. Jaiden Woodbey (4-Star, S) [Upland, CA] - Woodbey has a really close relationship with Donte Williams and is an acquaintance with Elijah Blades. He already released a top 4 that included USC, Nerbaska, Ohio State and Oklahoma. Nebraska will be in on this one until the end as they didn't take a safety in this class.

4. Brian Hightower (4-Star, WR) [Bradenton, FL] - Hightower has already visited Nebraska and is good friends with former Calabasas teammates Radley-Hiles and KJJ. Nebraska was in on him early and might make a resurgence this season. It's going to be hard to beat out Bama and Clemson as well as USC for this one.

5. Colson Yankoff (4-Star, QB) [Coeur d'Alene, ID] - Yankoff was formerly committed to Oregon and will be a difficult pull away from the Ducks but Langsdorf has been in Idaho multiple times looking at the elite QB prospect this winter and is trying to get him to visit in the spring.

6. Kamryn Babb (4-Star, WR) [Saint Louis, MO] - When Riley talked about hitting Missouri, especially St. Louis... harder in recruiting this cycle Babb is the name that immediately springs to mind. He is one of the most sought after WR recruits in the 2018 class and is already favoring Ohio State... however... Nebraska has another WR that at one point was committed to Ohio State in Tyjon Lindsey that could be of use here.

7. Calvin Avery (4-Star, DT) [Dallas, TX] - Avery has already said that Nebraska is one of his favorites in this class and JP will be on him like white on rice for the entirety of the cycle. Coach Cav already got Brenden Jaimes to tell Texas no and Nebraska will be looking to do the same with Avery. He is the former teammate of 2017 commit Damion Daniels as well. Which can't hurt.

8. Mario Goodrich (4-Star, ATH) [Lees Summit, MO] - Goodrich is another Missouri prospect Nebraska wants as either a safety or a WR. He's been to campus before and Nebraska is working on getting him in for the spring game.

9. Michael Thompson (4-Star, DT) [Saint Louis, MO] - Thompson will have the pick of the litter when it comes to offers but Nebraska could sell him proximity as well as early playing time. He could play NT or DE in the 3-4 and Nebraska hopes to get him on campus in the spring.

10. Dorian Hardy (4-Star, DE) [Montvale, NJ] - Hardy already liked Nebraska prior to the Diaco hire and that can't have hurt. While it will be hard to beat out Alabama for Hardy's services he's a kid from the Northeast that is athletic and versatile enough to play OLB or grow into a role as a DE in the 3-4.

11. Trevor Trout (4-Star, DT) [Saint Louis, MO] - Nebraska will be fighting off Mizzou and Iowa and plenty of others for this elite NT product out of Missouri. He will hopefully be visiting in the spring. Nebraska wants to add more Saint Louis flavor on its roster and with Missouri being down and the 2018 class being loaded with talent in Saint Louis now is the time to strike.

Honorable Mention #1 - Grahm Roberts (3-Star, RB) [Wilmington, DE] - Grahm is the younger brother of current Husker Avery Roberts and had a solid Jr. year running the ball for the Wilmington squad. Nebraska could take 2 RBs in this small class and Roberts could be one of them.

Honorable Mention #2 - Will Farniok (NYR, C) [Sioux Falls, SD] - Will is the younger brother of current Husker offensive tackle Matt Farniok and has had an offer since the fall of 2015 from Nebraska. He is projected to be one of the better Center prospects in the midwest this upcoming cycle. Don't be surprised if he's the next one to pull the trigger this spring.

As the spring evaluation period hits full steam in the spring we'll see new names pop up.

I think we take as many as we need... Diaco will set the number. I would say he wants a NT and a DE maybe another NT depending on who that is. Only about 15-20 in this class so you have to be purposeful with how you do the numbers.
