That is one thing they have done well since getting here and that is building a secondary that will play great defense but as well get "you to the next level" and I believe that is a huge recruiting tool for these coaches...

Side note : By the way Sidney Jones has been practicing again with the Eagles, to be honest I believe they are taken their sweet time bring him back all the way just to make sure he's 110%!

As much as this defense has been the talk of the program for the past few seasons, I believe this offense is about to take a huge step up in the next year or two. I don't think they red shirt these new wide outs, I believe if Jake connects with them in spring and fall training, they will put them out there next season.

I 100% agree.

I was actually thinking about this myself. We've got an amazing true freshman TE in Hunter Bryant, Salvon Ahmed looks like the real deal, we're got two of the best QBs in the country for the class of 2018 and a top ranked QB for the class of 2019 already locked in. Oh and don't forget those WRs we're bringing in, Spiker is the 2nd highest rated recruit of the Petersen era.

Really excited for the direction this program is going. The coaching will continue to be elite and we will be bringing in some of the best talent the program has seen in decades.

Woof!

I've been saying it since October, these aren't your standard of UW wide outs, these are NFL pro type wide outs. If they build upper their upper bodies holly hell watch out!
We got the three headed monster with last years WR class, now you've got Spiker, Osbourne, and Lowe coming in. This roster is absolutely loaded with weapons for our QBs.

The big question is how well will Hamdan do at using all of those tools. It's an unknown quantity.

I believe he has a balanced approach. Usually coaches that have the NFL on the resume learn balance attack is the key to a successful offense. Now if they see a team their playing has a horrible secondary then yes I would be passing a lot...

No matter what anyone wants to think or believe he's an unknown going into the season.

Calling plays/running an offense is far more than the simple philosophy of balance. There are deep x's and o's and they have to understand how every single play they have ever written up works, what it works against, and what it doesn't work against, know when to pull it out, and just as importantly, when to abandon it no matter how much you like that play.

Bad play callers just don't understand the moving parts as much. They fail to understand complex defenses and how to exploit even small weaknesses. They don't know how to setup big plays later with smaller plays early meant to get the defense leaning one way to make that big play work.

Hamdan is a hell of a recruiter. He's a young energetic coach and players like him a lot. He's got a lot going for him. I'm happy they brought him back. But it's also true we won't know what we have with him until probably half way through the season, and oh by the way welcome to college football play calling, your first task is to run that offense against Auburn to open the season.

Really excited to see Draco in purple. Home town kid and a really good dude. Every game I went to nobody could block him 1 on 1 at the 5A level. Keep your eye on Trey Lowe...He is legit.. great vision.. Sounds like he will be moved to slot. The kid has skills. Really excited :10:

Pretty sure that also made him the #1 ILB by 247's measurement.

It's interesting that 247 and ESPN deviate so substantially on Kaho. ESPN has him as a 3 star and the 47th best LB in the country.

Who was the Huskies last 5 star signee? Kasen Williams maybe?

ESPN doesn't recognize anyone west of Texas. I think Williams was a 4*.

I think Locker was a 5* recruit. He may have been the last 5* guy we have landed.

Also kind of surprising to see such a huge deviation. Generally I think those ratings tend to be pretty similar between different sites.

Rivals had Eason as a 5* recruit, so if you include him, we're landing two 5* players. Pretty cool.

Hard to say. I'm unsure if there are digital records of recruits from when he was a recruit. Wouldn't be surprised if he was though.
I looked it up. The last 5 Star was Matt tuiasosopo in 05 I believe. The one before that was a Neuheisel recruit, a tackle from California that never played for us because of a pre existing back injury I guess. And then Reggie was a 5 Star and number 5 overall.

Ahh, interesting. So Locker wasn't a 5 star? For some reason I thought he was.

He was the 59th rated in the nation that year according to 247., so close. Probably just felt like a momster get because of the steaming pile that the program was in.

Wow. What a weekend going on at Montlake behind the scenes. Two situations that are very connected.

USC DL coach Kenechi Udeze interviewed with the 49ers today, might be leaving USC. Full story: rvls.co/2rJBf2q

Defensive tackle Tuli Letuligasenoa did not sign his National Letter of Intent during the signing period of December 20-22. Instead, he has continued to consider his options.

He’s decided to visit Washington this weekend and is up here right now.
