Nebraska has no defensive commits to date.

Defense

Defensive End

Amani Bledsoe (3-Star, DE)[Lawrence, KS] - Bledsoe showed a lot of interest in Nebraska early on (visited unofficially twice in the fall) but also likes Okalahoma. It looked like he was close to going to Norman when their DL coach packed up and left for the NFL. Bledsoe will have no shortage of suitors as the 6'5" 270 lb DE definitely looks the part. Teams like FSU, Ohio State, and Notre Dame have offered as well and that offer list will only grow. Nebraska will work hard to get him on campus as talent like this in the 500 mile radius doesn't come along every cycle.

Xavier Kelly (4-Star, DE) [Wichita, KS] - If it's rare to have one great talent at DE in this area, it's even more rare to have two. Kelly loved Nebraska and looked to be on the verge of committing there but then Bo Pelini got fired. Kelly then quickly committed to Kansas State. However, there's still an open spot for Kelly and he used to have a lot of love for the Huskers. The new coaching staff will have to build new relationships and get him on campus but look for them to try it quickly. The expectation is that they will try to get Kelly and Bledsoe up on the same weekend.

Connor Murphy (3-Star, DE) [Phoenix, AZ] - Nebraska is looking to lock down Arizona more after reeling in Dedrick Young and Murphy could be a big part of that if the Huskers go all in on him. It's obvious that it should be easier to recruit Kelly and Bledsoe for the two DE spots but Murphy is right there with him.

Izon Pulley (3-Star, DE) [Olney, MD] - Pulley doesn't have a Nebraska offer but new DL coach Hank Hughes was high on him when he was at Cincinnati. Not certain if there is interest from either side but definitely a player to keep an eye on as recruiting progresses.

Other Names: Josh King, Devin Asiasi

Defensive Tackle

Garrett Rand (4-Star, DT)[Chandler, AZ] - Rand is one of the top DTs in the country and a very high target out of Arizona for Nebraska. It's also nice for Nebraska that Rand has connections to the Huskers and family that lives in the state of Nebraska. In fact, Rand visited Nebraska this winter to go hunting with some friends and family. There's definitely familiarity and interest on both sides and Nebraska is going to be looking to be more active within the state of Arizona for recruiting. However, Rand will be a battle as all major Pac-12 programs and programs across the nation will be bidding for his services.

Glen Logan (4-Star, DT) [Destrehan, LA] - Nebraska will continue to try to build on its pipeline in Louisiana and will try to extend that to defensive linemen. Logan was one of the first 2016 players the new staff offered upon taking the job at Nebraska and it's obvious they really value him as a prospect. However, Logan will be a very tough pull out of LA as he already has offers from the likes of LSU, Texas A&M, Tennessee and the like.

Naquan Jones (4-Star, DT) [Evanston, IL] - Jones has been hearing a lot from Nebraska, Illinois and Michigan lately and is one of the best DTs in the north this cycle. Northwestern has yet to offer (home city) which could point to qualification issues for the school, but Nebraska needn't worry about that. The Huskers will look to get Jones in for a Junior Day and likely push hard with an offer then.

David Letuligasenoa (NYR, DT) [Brentwood, CA] - David is going to be a name to keep an eye on. He recently won DL MVP at the NFTC camp in Eugene, Oregon but has yet to garner any offers (at least that he is talking about). Obviously, USC is a big player here but if Nebraska gets in early they could make a case for him to visit.

Other Names: Michael Williams, Mike Panasiuk, Jamahl Johnson

Inside Linebacker

Dontavious Jackson (4-Star, ILB) [Houston, TX] - One of the top LBers in the nation and one of the top players overall in the state of Texas, Nebraska's Reggie Davis and Trent Bray have wasted no time getting in on the name. Jackson will be visiting Nebraska for the spring game and is looking forward to it. He has offers from all major Texas programs as well as LSU and will be visiting those teams as well prior to his senior year. Getting Jackson on campus is huge for Nebraska recruiting in the state of Houston.

Krys Barnes (4-Star, ILB) [Bakersfield, CA] - Barnes is a name that is fast rising in the recruiting ranks this spring. Nebraska offered him a scholarship in February and he was excited about it but USC, Oklahoma and LSU all offered around the same time as well. Nebraska will have to fight to keep Barnes' interest but they really like his potential at MLB.

Carlo Kemp (4-Star, LB) [Boulder, CO] - Being from Boulder plenty assume that Kemp is a Buffs lock, but he may not be. Nebraska is making a name for itself in the Rocky Mountain state after snagging the top two recruits in the state just a year ago. Kemp is an overall athlete that could play MLB, OLB or DE at the next level and the Huskers will likely try to nab him and the #2 player in the State (Jojo Domann) to come to Nebraska. If the Huskers succeed that would be two years in a row they have poached the top two players out of Colorado.

Other Names: Koby Quansah, Devin White, Joel Dublanko, Emmanuel Bridges

Outside Linebacker

Jaleel Laguins (4-Star, OLB) [Watkinsville, GA] - Trent Bray likes southern, fast, outside linebackers and Laguins fits the bill. The 4-star recruit already has an offer from Georgia but has been heard saying that he doesn't mind the idea of leaving the state. He will be unofficially visiting Nebraska with his QB (Zeb Noland) this March and Nebraska will definitely role out the red carpet for one of the best players in the Peach State.

Jojo Domann (NYR, OLB) [Colorado Springs, CO] - Domann doesn't yet have a Nebraska offer but he's waiting for one. Domann is from the same school as Avery Anderson and is really good friends with the current Husker. It would be surprising if Anderson wasn't his host when Domann visits Nebraska this spring for the Spring Game. Look for the Huskers to try to play their cards right and make the weekend an event in which they offer players like Domann scholarships face to face instead of over the phone.

Michael Divinity (4-Star, OLB) [Marrero, LA] - Divinity could be seen as a Tiger lock but the Huskers offered him anyway on February 17th. Divinity would be a tough pull out of Louisiana but seemed very excited about the Nebraska offer. Well known Louisiana players like Tyrin Ferguson have gone to Lincoln in the past few years and the connection has only grown as Bray has great relationships with HS coaches in the state.

Caleb Kelly (4-Star, OLB) [Fresno, CA] - It's obvious Nebraska wants to bring in quite a few LBers in this class and Kelly was among the first offered by new LB coach Trent Bray in December. Although Kelly is from Fresno, he has no qualms about leaving home. Nebraska will have to keep on him if they really want him but if they feel they have a better shot with Laguins and/or Divinity they may back off. (Kelly is a 5-Star on scout FWIW)

Other Names: Curtis Robinson, Ben Davis, Emanuel Bridges

Cornerback

AJ Taylor (4-Star, CB) [Kansas City, MO] - Taylor is a Rockhurst High player and standout, same school as Zach Hannon and Michael Rose, so Nebraska is a familiar name around their. Nebraska has yet to offer Taylor (likely waiting for a DB coach to be named) but he has to be high on the list. If Nebraska offers and gets Taylor in for a visit they could easily be battling Missouri for one of the top players in the state.

Byron Murphy (4-Star, CB) [Scottsdale, AZ] - Murphy is another name out of Arizona that Nebraska really likes and offered in January. It's hard to tell where things stand with him at the moment but it would seem that the closer schools to home have the edge. Nebraska will stay on Murphy until if/when he cuts them out of a top group.

Other Names: John Broussard, Joshua Hayes, Roderick Campbell (note: look for CB recruiting to clear up once a new DB coach is announced)

Safety

Isaiah Simmons (4-Star, ATH) [Olathe, KS] - Simmons is an interesting case as he looked to be a Husker lean prior to Charlton Warren leaving the program. However, he would be a very big safey, he's listed anywhere between 6'3" and 6'5" by various recruiting sites and could play safety or wide receiver at the next level. Initially Nebraska was recruiting him as a safety.

Jaylon Jones (3-Star, DB) [Allen, TX] - Jones is a talented part of yet another deep DB class in the state of Texas. He got a Husker offer in January and has said that he is interested. He would be a tough pull from Texas but definitely a doable one. He's fast enough and fluid enough to be either a Safety or a Corner but Nebraska is recruiting him as a safety... at least initially. He said he wants to visit.

Thanks for the work, Nut

I'm not high on Rand

Thanks rule... and I'm wondering why you're not high on Rand? Almost to a T the recruiting services around the country see him as a Top 10 DT talent. That's the type of talent you want to come into Nebraska. Especially if it has Husker connections.

Quick. Somebody remind Riley that he's no longer at Oregon St and Bo's been fired. Enough of 'The best of the mid-major' prospects.

Billy's approach is fitting
A Dec grad so he can challenge for a spot right away, as well he better or else it defeats the purpose
