It's going to be interesting to see how Luke handles McGee's playing time.

On one hand, with the great passers and ball movement the Lakers look to have, he should get a lot of dunks.

On the other hand, you have to get him out of the game before he does something to end up on Shaqtin' A Fool.
Damn you.

I didn't even need to reply to Dj's post.

I could have saved the key strokes and just said...

^ this ^

To a lesser extent, Mcgee could have a Deandre Jordan/Capela type impact.

I say less because he should not get full-time minutes because of what you already covered.

It's the preseason and they played the same team twice.

The only take away that you can possibly take seriously from Mcgee's performance is that LeBron and Rondo are going to make him a scoring threat and that he is still freakishly athletic and will be a great rim protector.

Problem is, he's still stupid and will continue to prove that fact every 2 games out of 3.

Plumlee dropped 23 last night and it literally means nothing in the 2nd preseason game.

Main reason for McGee's elevated scoring is Rondo and others setting him up for easy dunks and lay ins. Lakers were pushing the ball and getting him easy looks. If that can continue, he'll be fine as the "big lineup" center. Just don't rely on him to get his own shots.

The cavs already had more ball movement in the 1st preseason game then they had all of last year

Pretty amazing to see the Cavs do this to the Celtics despite the departure of Jeff Green.

Dude, it's the preseason.

The Cavs looked much better than I expected and the Celtics looked much worse.

But, It's not amazing at all to see the Cavs beat a Celtics team without their best player

As much as you've been yanking your junk on this board about Kyrie, I'm sure you know this game would have looked very different had he played.

Problem is, it won’t move through the basket enough times to win many games.

Or of it was real, or mattered.
Pre season anything is bullshit.

20-23mpg is what I expect.
That looks about right.

What is the deal with Mo Wagner?

Is he hurt?

Might be time to pull the plug , after this season, on the Zublocka experiment.

He is a third stringer at best.

Bone contusion in his knee I believe. He's out for the preseason at least.

Zubac just doesn't fit in this new NBA (or the uptempo style the Lakers want to run).

Agree.

LeBron made a below average JJ Hickson look a legit NBA player.

Imagine what he could do with a guy as athletic as Mcgee.

As for Rondo..

I have always liked his game.

Sure, he could be a better shooter.

But, he's shot is decent enough to keep the defense honest and he is a phenomenal distributor.

Okay.....

No point rushing him back for games that don't count.

Building chemistry is great.

Having a healthy Season is better.

Do you think Mo will get most of his minutes at the 5?

I'm not sold on that Kuz at the 5 version of the death lineup.

I would expect Mo to play mostly at the 5 once he's up to speed. Unfortunately, he'll be behind all season after missing the preseason and may have to spend some time in the G League to get some minutes. He'll be a much different style than McGee though, more of a spread the floor option.

thats the thing- it was DEFINITELY not Ty Lue's system or guys like Love, Korver, Nance Jr., etc. that were stifling the ball movement last year.

Lue always was trying to stress to the Cavs pushing the ball faster and more ball movement.

In Cleveland, there if you have listened to sports talk radio at all there over the last decade plus- know there is something called the "LeBron Stanky Leg Offense" - which is LeBron pounding the ball at hte top of the key and 4 guys watching.

Wiggy said he would fly to Mars if McGee averaged over 8 PPG, so we have something to root for. I think there is a fairly decent chance.

you have got to be shitting me. Capela and Jordan are high level NBA players. McGee is a well well below average NBA player. A helluva lot more than minutes separates those guys.

Not what I meant...

His style of play, touches, role etc will be Capela and Jordanish in the sense that he will get a couple of well placed, spectacular lobs a game.

But, he is primarily there to block shots and shag boards.

And you are correct, minutes are not what separates him from the other two.

It's his lack of brain power, which I and others stated repeatedly.

Mcgee is not capable of playing heavy minutes. But, it's not for lack of talent.

It's because he's a dimwit and will inevitably do something stupid.

Hey, they opened a extra upper deck for the Clippers preseason game....

Oh, the place is just half empty.

Never mind.
