Baker looked legit tonight...of course only pre-season, but thats more than you can ever say about Johhny Manziel. lol

Yeah I'm not gonna get excited or anything, after all Mayfield was playing against 2nd & 3rd stringers. But he made some plays that surprised me. The 3rd & long completion for a 1st down. And that short scramble in the red zone to keep the drive alive. I hope he gets a chance to play against some 1st stringers before the preseason is over.

Cavsnation.com pretty reliable source. All Cavs updates, still a rumor

Do you know a Michael Shofner? That is where they got the rumor from and this was his exact statement on it.

While I usually don’t deal with rumors and innuendos without a grain of salt, it’s always fun to think about the potential outcome of them.

And here is the description of that website Mr. Shofner post on.

Welcome to All U Can Heat, the Miami Heat news and opinions site brought to you by the FanSided Network. All U Can Heat is dedicated to providing top-notch Heat news, views, and original content. This site also serves as a community for like-minded fans to come together to catch up on the latest news and to discuss their passion.

I am hoping it isnt true. Waiters is a locker room killer and Whiteside has lack of effort issues. Seems like a disaster double whammy

He is far from a locker room killer. Funny how he has not had any locker room issues since he left Cleveland. Kyrie is a weird guy and they didn't like each other. Can you blame Waiters?

i think putting Waiters with Sexton would be a bad idea and stunt Sexton's growth.

Did you forget LeBron left?
The disaster is the Cavs, every season without him, going back a very long time.

Other then staying healthy, Waiters and Whiteside are easily the 2 best players of the 5 involved in the hopeful just rumor.

Whiteside was offered max from several teams.
Tristan had 0 offers of anthing.
Lets not forget that.

Korver/Clarkson are in essence, useless to either team.

Hes not getting a max, but hes getting way more interest and money then Tristan is.

Healthy Whiteside has proven twice he can be a league leader.
He cant produce if his strengths aren’t played to when hes on the court which was alot of the time last season.

but the thing is- if you are going to have him and pay him that much he has to be your focus and hes just not a good enough player and a good enough leader/teammate for everone to be looking to him and for him to be the focus. When you have a guy with his skillset, you have to make a commitment to a type of style of play- and hes just not good enough to justify that commitment.

If you're justifying role by pay level, you're doomed to fail.

how is it relevant how many teams offered him a max 3 years ago?

He was going to get a shit load of money even if he didn't get the max. Dallas & Portland were ready to give him 20+ mil

He needs to be featured offensively at times.
Heat made little effort to do that.
He’ll rebound regardless.

whats more relevant to how he is as a player today--- what someone would have paid him a handful of years ago or what someone would pay him today? that was my point.

He had a bad season due to injuries. Are players not allowed to get injured and have a rough season by their standard?

if he is not getting regular touches and minutes is he gonna whine and complain? it sure seems that way.

That happened so often.
Will LeBron throw games again?

well we shall see this year right? I know the excuse riley used in the playoffs was he was out of shape from being injured all year.

My whole point the whole time is what I had just said in my above post- the guys skillset makes you change the way your whole team plays - and its a way that is going out of style. If the player is good enough and inspires his teammates to play that style and the player can elevate the entire team- then hey- go for it- I just dont think Whiteside is nearly that type of guy.

If he was happy to play 25-30 minutes a night, get his double digit rebounds, his put backs, not have plays called for him, run the court etc...taht would be cool. If he thinks he should play 30+ minutes a night and get the touches that a first or second option gets and have the team play inside out, etc. then i think its an absolute disaster.
