Um, isn't that the definition of a prediction? :noidea:
I know what a prediction is - and I maintain that the predictions and the power rankings put out by ESPN are and always have been RETARDED, IGNORANT AND BIASED. On the ESPN message boards before CBS Message boards, all of the Lakers fans talked about it and agreed that they lacked accuracy. For some strange reason some of them in here are butt hurt that I don't think highly of the ESPN predictions. Well I don't - I think they are stupid. Get over it

I know that, but quite frankly I will just say that I have ways thought of ESPN prediction as stupid as Charles Barkley. But by all means, believe them

How is it stupid to make a prediction that could actually happen?

I think the Lakers will make the playoffs, but a case could easily be made for them not making the playoffs.

In fact, the Lakers could actually end up with a better record than last season and still not make the playoffs.

There are a lot of new faces and they just added the best player in the game. Without even considering who they got and the possible issues there. They are going to need a minute to get everyone on the same page, define roles and figure out how all of the pieces are going to fit. It happened in both Miami and Cleveland and they each had 2 other all stars on the team. That means they will likely struggle some at first.

If they were in the East...that likely wouldn't be a problem. However, they play in the West. If they start slowly, they could find themselves with too much ground to make up.

They could start slowly, end up winning about 44-46 games, which would be a big improvement over last year....and still come up short.

Well shit, if all of the Lakers fans on the ESPN boards agreed, then it must be a fact. :L

True story.

But, IMO it would take James sustaining his 1st major injury to miss the postseason.

Any projection that has both LEBron and the Spurs out is not a projection worthy paying attention to.
+1

Especially with Butler not being happy in Minny. I could see them trading him by deadline...and if they do......they miss the postseason.

And Portland over achieving last season. I can see them coming down a little bit.....

Yeah, I don't know who will miss. 10 really good teams.

But, I would be willing to bet the Lakers and Spurs don't BOTH miss. That would be crazy.
