If they think they can make the finals with him, they will not trade him
Yeah, I think that even if he tells them, "I absolutely will not re-sign with you" they would still keep him until the trade deadline. Not much reason not to.

should have taken Love, Sexton, Osman...

Really makes me wonder if a deal centered on Kyrie for Kawhi swap was ever close.
Yes....Heard this morning that Kawhi to the Raptors is "unofficially an officially done deal". lol
Now, if you're the Raptors...Do you immediately call the Lakers and say "What're you offering for Kawhi?"
If Kyrie was under contract a few years, the Spurs probably take that deal.Really makes me wonder if a deal centered on Kyrie for Kawhi swap was ever close.
If it was just Kyrie + picks for Kawhi... that's a deal that Boston almost has to make. If San Antonio demanded Brown or Tatum, too... I can see why the C's balked.
sometimes it does - sometimes it doesnt.....i mean Mecca- a lot of people come to play iwth LeBron and their trade value plummets- in fact, i think thats USUALLY what happens because your stats go down- and you are always blamed when you lose and never given sufficient credit when yo uwin. I mean the amount of guys like that in LeBron's career are STAGGERING.Yes....
....and Masai is a shrewd negotiator.
But, I would probably wait it out if I'm the Lakers.
Playing with Lebron will increase your youngsters trade value.
So, you might get away with Kuzma and Ball or Kuzma and Hart as long as you didn't try to slide Deng in there....lol
But, that deal would likely get outbid by other teams.
