Yes. He hated Gilbert and still came back. He wanted to live in LA and start his full blown Hollywood lifestyle

Lol. There is no way in hell Lebron is a Laker if Jim Buss is running things. Jim Buss was a complete idiot. He was the one who signed Mozgov and Deng.

So for one thing, he wouldn't have pulled off the moves that enabled the Lakers to get the cap space to sign Lebron in the first place.

If Jim Buss was still running things and Lebron wanted to be in LA that bad...he'd be a Clipper right now.

I’m not going to pretend that I know more about the lakers front office than diehard lakers fans but magic is getting way too much credit imo. If lebron breaks down in the next 2 yrs does magic get torched?

Suffice to say that when Jim Buss was running things, the Lakers FO was literally the laughing stock of the league. There's a reason that Lakers fan call him Short Buss. At times it felt like he looked at what the Nets FO was doing and said "Hold my beer".

The sad thing was that he dragged Mitch Kupchak, who was a well respected (if somewhat old school) GM, down with him.

Not sure how Magic is getting too much credit. He's been working on getting Lebron to the Lakers since day 1. It's part of why they signed KCP last year. Magic also showed up on Lebron's doorstep the night FA started by himself to get the deal done.

Heck, if nothing else, Magic deserves credit for stabilizing the FO to the point that Lebron would actually be willing to come to the Lakers.

I'd say most NBA fans (not just Lakers fans) realize this.

I guess the SPURS should match Kyle Anderson for business purposes alone.
If nothing else, the contract makes for a very nifty trade piece for a few years. All teams need them as well.

It is not that bad, and probably better than what they can get on the open market.
But, if they don't. It is a pure basketball only decision....not a cap/trade/tax decision.

Yes, if LeBron breaks down in the next two years, "Magic will get torched".

I doubt many Lakers fans torch him (except CL lol). But you can bet that if this happens, there will be plenty in the media, who are currently saying that the Lakers won FA, that will be forgetting what they are saying now and talking about how Magic should have "seen that coming and not signed him". lol

Magic deserves credit for stabilizing the front office and creating an environment that Lebron was comfortable to join. But we shouldn't overstate his importance in that regard.

I am wondering why Mitch Kupchak, former general manager for the Los Angeles Lakers, now the gm or whatever for the Hornets traded a good player for Timothy Mozgov:L
