Yeah it would seem that way.

Sixers now have 17 players for 15 spots. Looks like we will be parting ways with some guys pretty soon.

sounds like that foreign dude might be a replacement for Saric.

I really hope the Sixers trade for Leonard and fuck LeBron over.

It would be awesome if no one went to play with LeBron and he never made the Finals again.

Given the recent LAL moves, they appear to be more about keeping LeBron happy and not about winning. If they don't start off hot, the vets are going to be grumbling about minutes and winning and you have the recipe for a clusterfluck. If the vets get their way, then you defeat the purpose of developing the kids. They might just be throwing away this year to land another FA next year and keep developing the kids. Hard to say.

Looks like the Sixers are poised to send SA players and picks for Kawhi, but at this point, I'm happy to enter the season with what we have. Chandler and Nemanja are improvements over Ersan and Belli, especially defensively, so I'm pretty good with everything moving forward. If the trade happens, it happens and we assess. If it doesn't come to fruition, we will wait until next year and continue to develop.

No complaints here.

And the Sixers will have 44 million in cap space next year.

I heard some interesting stuff on the radio last night that the "old guard" of the NBA is a lot different than the "new guard"- that the "new guard"- the kyrie/butler/george etc. group does not exactly love the idea of playing with LeBron and getting practically all the blame if they lose and a small share of the credit if they win. Kyrie discouraged Butler from coming to Clevleand. George was almost on his way to Cleveland but did not get there and then decided to stay in OKC with RW. Tehre are rumors that Kawhi would rather have his own team in the CLippers than with LBJ for the Lakers.

I think Kawhi is a reasonable chance of ending up with the Lakers next year, but if he doesnt who does?

Id say Butler and Kyrie are definite no's. Id say Klay is a "maybe". Depending on what the Hornets do with Kemba he is a "maybe". Cousins who knows.

I would just laugh my ass off if after making 8 straight Finals and building this aura of greatness, if we never heard from LeBron again

As is, he will be 34 in december- in a year where its pretty much universally agreed he has little chance of making the Conference Finals, let alone the Finals, let alone actually winning a championship.

Going into his age 35 season, would it really blow people away if guys like Butler, Kyrie, Klay, Kawhi wanted to pursue their futures elsewhere?

Everyone they added is a midseason trade asset as an expiring contract. For any trade situations that may arise, Lakers have talented youngsters, a multitude of expiring contracts, and draft picks to work with. Keeps the roster as flexible as possible for next season as well. As for the players themselves, they are all solid defenders and rebounders. There weren't a lot of sharp-shooters available in this year's free agency crop, so the Lakers went for the other side of the equation. They got their shooters in the draft I guess.

As far as the Sixers go, why/how did they get to 17 guaranteed contracts? Not sure why that is even possible? Should only be 15 and 2 2-way contracts max.

I'm more of a Max Hooper guy....

I can't wait to see what Jackie Moon does in the NBA. He gonna turn the league upside down w/ his skillz.
