Interesting. I've read the dude just can't hit at the AAA level and that he K's waaaaay too much.

Org depth I'm thinking. De Paula is intriguing though.

I've read he has good contact skills, but his eye/walk and power skills are well below average and that it's going to hurt him. Reminds me of Adrianza, with a little bit better bat and a little bit less glove. Def. an organizational type player

Some have noted that Avelino has possibly joined the launch angle/flyball revolution and they may have a point. His groudnball percentage is lowest since Rookieball in 2012, and his flyball percentage is highest since 2012. I (nor anyone in the general public) don't have access to his statcast numbers, but I'd be curious what they show. Perhaps he unlocked something this year.

This kid is extremely skinny. I'm no body type expert, but if he can add some substance maybe that fastball keeps growing as well. Even based off this picture (from 2017) and the video above (2018), he looks a bit bigger
