6 game win streak to finish

Typical Joe.

Mauer, in all likelihood, finishes his career with a double.... a 9 game hitting streak.... and as a catcher for one last pitch.

And never leading his team to a single playoff victory and having 1 extra base hit and 1 rbi in 44 playoff plate appearances while making more than $200M in his career.

With that 1 last pitch behind the plate, I'm almost positive that Mauer has already made up his mind to retire. I don't blame him since we aren't going to be competitive for the foreseeable future (as long as the Pohlads own the team).

Wish i had seen the game, but i went golfing instead.
Told my wife, if this is Joey's last game, he needs to go out from behind the plate. Glad he did.

He'll go down as one of my favorite twins. Took some flack he didn't deserve, injuries slowed his career bit, still fun player to watch.

Wish team would've had more success with him

If that final game said anything, I think Joe is done with baseball.

I just got a chance to watch a replay of yesterday's game.

The top of the ninth was very special....and very cool.

Way to go Joe, thanks for everything.

Flack he didn't deserve, lolzzz

I honestly feel like had he played for a different team such as the Red Sox he would have had a better career, he would have challenged Tris Speakers doubles record.

Obviously I have never been a big fan of Mauer but I do appreciate what he's meant to Minnesota and Twins fans, I guess I just can't get passed he never led the team to a single playoff win, just honestly feels like a waste. I truly feel like had he done anything against the A's in 2006 we move on that year!

You mean as a 23 year old, and youngest every day player on the roster? Hitting behind Castillo and Punto, who did absolutely nothing, either? That 2006 series?

Yes sir, that 2006 series you know the series where Castillo had more hits than Mauer and Punto had just as many. Also, yes that 23 year old who managed to somehow win a batting title that year with those same guys batting in front of him. I'm glad we are on the same page here...

We got fucking swept lmao.

Hunter had one of the biggest misplays imaginable in game 1.

But if Mauer adds a few hits we win the series lol

Guess what dumbass we lost the first game 3 - 2 and Mauer had zero hits, you don't think a big hit could have changed that game and maybe the series? We lost game two 5 - 2 Cuddy and Morneau went deep, you don't think if Mauer has a 3-4 game that might have changed the outcome?
