With that 1 last pitch behind the plate, I'm almost positive that Mauer has already made up his mind to retire. I don't blame him since we aren't going to be competitive for the foreseeable future (as long as the Pohlads own the team).

He'll go down as one of my favorite twins. Took some flack he didn't deserve, injuries slowed his career bit, still fun player to watch.

I honestly feel like had he played for a different team such as the Red Sox he would have had a better career, he would have challenged Tris Speakers doubles record.

Obviously I have never been a big fan of Mauer but I do appreciate what he's meant to Minnesota and Twins fans, I guess I just can't get passed he never led the team to a single playoff win, just honestly feels like a waste. I truly feel like had he done anything against the A's in 2006 we move on that year!

Yes sir, that 2006 series you know the series where Castillo had more hits than Mauer and Punto had just as many. Also, yes that 23 year old who managed to somehow win a batting title that year with those same guys batting in front of him. I'm glad we are on the same page here...

Guess what dumbass we lost the first game 3 - 2 and Mauer had zero hits, you don't think a big hit could have changed that game and maybe the series? We lost game two 5 - 2 Cuddy and Morneau went deep, you don't think if Mauer has a 3-4 game that might have changed the outcome?
