They win those games with him. But it's just a game or two. Orlando just beat Boston and Houston back to back. Phoenix beat Denver yesterday. These losses have nothing to do with how good the Lakers are and their playoff chances. If LeBron comes back soon and stays there, they are making the playoffs.
you see their upcoming schedule?

This last 2-3 weeks is when they were supposed to be making hay....

Even if/when LeBron comes back, the schedule for them coming up is about as hard of a 11 game stretch as i have seen.

And still just takes us to early February. This is the preseason y'all. I know we have to talk about something but again, healthy LeBron = Lakers playoffs and you know it. Might be an 8 seed, but it's happening. We all see what a piece of shit roster he dragged to the FINALS last year. He can drag these guys to 46 wins. If he is healthy.

i read an article that said they have the 2nd hardest schedule in the NBA in the 2nd half.

If they do not make a major move at the deadline LEBron is gonna have to go balls to the wall just to make the playoffs- the same guy coming off 8 straight Finals appearances.

If LeBron is the difference between the Lakers being better, or worse, than the Cavs and Knicks....

They are in big, big trouble.

Well...he is. I don't know why this is such a shock to people. I've been saying since Summer the signings post-Lebron were trash. Look at that Lakers roster talent wise. There's Lebron and then a huge drop off to Kyle Kuzma. There's a drop off to whatever the hell Ingram/Ball are, and then it nose dives again. When Lebron is gone, the Lakers are very sub-par team. They can lose to anyone. Last year, they at least had some talent in Lopez, Thomas, Randle, etc. But they're all gone (to make room for Lebron, which was necessary salary-wise but beside my point here) and were replaced with the likes of Stephenson, McGee, Beasley, etc. So when Lebron is out...yeah, you're in trouble. That's why I said a couple of weeks ago when it happened that Lebron's injury was such a bummer. It came at the worst time because the schedule got soft. It was a prime opportunity to pick up some wins and build a playoff cushion. Now you're just gonna have to hope Lebron comes back ASAP and they'll be in a dogfight for the last couple of playoff spots out West with like 50 other teams.

Yep, that one. Best player of all time (tied). Let's watch him work.

lol....BIG DIFFERENCES but you might be too ignorant to see

this Lakers team has very very little rebounding and very very little shooting. The Cleveland roster was built around LeBron.

Love would EASILY be the 2nd best player on this Lakers team. Thompson would be a HUGE help and would give the Lakers toughness and rebounding that they seriously lack. The Lakers have no one that can shoot the ball 1/2 as good as Kyle Korver. When the Cavs brought a big off the bench tey were bringing Larry Nance Jr.--- the Lakers bring who? the corpse of Tyson Chandler? George Hill is a professional point guard that has played in a ton of playoff games and knows what he is doing- hes not going to shit the bed and shoot 50% on free throws. What is the difference between Rodney Hood and Jr Smith and KCP and Stephenson besides practically nothing? gmafb.

if you swapped out Kuzma, McGee and Ingram for Love, Thompson and Korver this Lakers team is inifnitely better and more equipped to make the playoffs and make some noise.

As much as I'd love to see the Kings take the playoff spot of the Lakers, I'm not dumb enough to believe it could happen. Jazz have a better chance because they have an easier schedule, but if the Lakers get LeBron with 20-30 games left they should make it.

They are in big, big trouble.
missing Rondo does not help their cause when Ball is playing some inconsitently....

Rondo at least gives them depth - at this point in his career he is nothing special- but at least he gives them an option for those games where Ball mentally seems to check out.

losing the Knicks and Cavs at home- two teams that are tanking and are missing their best players (porzingis and love) is pretty fucking bad though.

They just might be forced into making a deal a lot sooner than they would like- they cant risk the humiliation that missing the playoffs would bring to them.

i agree...they probably SHOULD, but there is certainly no guarantee.

right around this time last year the Jazz went on a big time run too....and they have some depth....

Mitchell, Gobert are studs...

then they go Ingles, Korver, Crowder on the wing...

Rubio and Exum is decent at Pg- nothing special but decent....Favors is a good player.

Jazz are gonna come around and start playing some good basketball. They had a brutal schedule early on too.

i was surprised how they used their cap space after LeBron.

They needed to get more shooting and rebounding....

KCP AND STephenson is a luxury- they didnt need both. They gave Beasley the SAME contract that the Bucks gave Brook Lopez. They refused to trade any of their young guys for help.

Kuzma has been great offensively- but Ingram and Ball just havent been great- and i gotta say- its a lot expecting 2 21 year olds to carry such a heavy load and such heavy expectations.

Think of the pressure Ingram and Ball have--- both are the highest lottery picks the Lakers have had in forever (besides Russell who they dealt)- both ahd huge expectations- both are playing in LA. Both are expected to play huge roles with LEBron James--- a LeBron James that has ALWAYS had veteran rosters around him his entire career.

and while i think both Ingram and Ball will be good NBA players and have long careers- neither are studs. Neither are all star level talents. Neither can be the 2nd or 3rd, or maybe even 4th best guys on a championship caliber team- at least not at this point in their careers.

Clippers' spot could open up too, they've had a good season but I wouldn't be shocked if they miss the playoffs. LeBron is better than anyone on the Jazz which gives them the advantage if only one team is gonna make it, but even with him they won't be unstoppable.
