I used to coach a kid from Cameroon who looked to be about 30 when he was in 10th grade. His teammates used to jokingly ask him about his wife and kids back home.

True story. The kid stayed with a friend in DC one summer. He was dating a 25 year old woman who thought he was her age. End of the summer, it was time to go back to school so he was ready to break up with her. He told her his "real age" and she didn't believe him. He finally broke out his high school ID and the woman still didn't believe the ID was real.

Pretty hilarious.

From reading the article it sounds like someone got his age wrong years back and the media never realized it, instead of him intentionally keeping his real age hidden(which wouldn't make sense to do).
