Well, Lakers game was fun to watch. The lack of familiarity shows up at the end of quarters and games. Which is to be expected.

The new guy wearing Cedric Ceballos' old number looks like he might be able to play a little.

All that hype and money thrown at a clearly aging, Rapidly washed up Lebron Just for some jersey sales. ROFLMAO.

Dude is never gonna bring you a 'ship as lead dog. That money could have been spent in getting a legit 1-2 punch combo with 2 younger superstars. Not a 16 year washed up vet. Morons.

Lakers even gonna win 25 games this year?

He was mad.

Harden gave him a little shoulder on the way to the basket.

But, nothing that should have caused that reaction.

Oh well...

He has never done anything like that before.

So, chalk it up to a teaching moment.
the pressure got to Ingram

this is not playing on some Western Conference cellar dwellar with no expectations like Ingram has been the last couple years.

The bright lights, the pressure, the expectations.

Staring down the barrel of opening 0-2.

Lost his mind.

this is a guy they are relying on- some say to be the their #2 scorer. If this is any indication he doesn't have the mental fortitude to handle that responsibility at this point.

if you sign a bunch of crazies like Rondo, Stephenson, McGee, KCP this is what you are gonna get.

Why go the route the Cavs and Miami did and bring in high quality and high character vets that can nail the 3 when you can bring in a bunch of cast-off psycho's that cant shoot?

LeBron has to be wondering what the fuck he got himself into this morning.

Lakers, once again 8/32 from 3 for 25% as well.

They knew this when they formed the team. Zero shooters lolz
it wont last. they will be forced to make a move to pick up a shooter or two if this level of awfulness continues.

they have assets to make a move- and if LeBron gets impatient he will go to MAgic and ask him to go and get a shooter or two.

the LAkers are 15/62 from 3 this year in the first two games. You just cant win games like that in todays NBA.

Ingram was BEGGING to fight/get suspended. He had lost his fucking mind. What an immature meltdown. :tsk:
pressure got to him.

Playing with LeBron, being on national TV, hugely raised expectations, tons of people hyping Ingram, some saying he could/should be the Lakers #2 scoring option.

Its a lot to put on a kid that had yet to play in a meaningful NBA game.

Looks like he cracked last night.

Yes and no on the shooting. The 3 point shooting is what's hurting them.

Overall, they are shooting nearly 50% from the field (48% last night), but they only shot 25% (8 for 32) from 3 and that was with Lonzo shooting 4 of 8 from 3.

At some point, they are going to have to address the 3 point shooting. That's what has been the main difference in the first 2 games.

Whether they address it through guys who were expected to shoot better from 3 (Ingram, Kuzma, Lebron) starting to hit them, or by making a move to bring in a shooter during or after the season, doesn't really matter. But they will need to address it at some point if they want to become contenders.

I gotta say, there's things that we need to improve, starting with Luke and his subs...but we went head up with the rockets, and had a fighting chance

Agree. I like the fight (not necessarily the literal fight lol) that they are showing. Luke will get the substitutions figured out. It's gonna take time with all of the new faces. Plus, they have a couple of other guys who haven't been playing yet that he'll want a look at pretty soon.

As the season goes on, they will get things figured out and some of the close losses will start turning into wins.

I think you're just looking for a reason to be overly critical. You're the only person in the NBA threads that has put unrealistic expectations on the Lakers this year. Even going as far as saying if they don't reach the Finals (which is simply absurd) this season will somehow hurt LeBron's legacy. Crazy talk.

He knew what he was getting into before he left Cleveland (again). And that's really the issue you have. The Lakers won 35 games last year. Are you saying LeBron isn't good for a +10 difference in W's this year? Even though the Lakers have their issues, I think he is good for 10 more W's than last year.

And I said before the season started I could see the Lakers winning around 46 games. The only thing that prevents that from happening is the injury bug hitting the team bad.

Even though I have never liked the Lakers I can be unbiased in giving my opinion of the team where they are right now.

LOL....you hungover this morning or something sweetie?

I said that the Lakers expectatioins- from BEGINNING TO END- were at most making the playoffs and winning an opening round series.

Please, OH PLEASE, find ONCE where i said the Lakers should make the Finals because it simply isnt there slugger. LOL

I predicted the Lakers to win 47 games you ass clown and get to either the first or second round- and WITH THIS TEAM- i think that is a perfectly sound prediction.

if anything- i was the one beating the drumo n the Lakers needing more shooting- and thus far- how can anyone not say I have been SPOT FUCKING ON.

According to wiggy your Lakers have started 15 of 62 from downtown. And we all know teams that start the season 0-2 not only don't make the playoffs they finish the season w/ a sub .500 record. Face it all you Lakers fans, the season is over. Better start looking forward to next year.

Brawl aside... I'm encouraged by the Lakers playing 48 close minutes @POR and vs HOU without LeBron needing to go beast mode to make that happen.

I was listening to a sports talk show and they were actually criticizing Lebron because he didn't take over these 2 games, which were winnable if he had.

While it would have been nice to win the games, I like that Lebron hung back and let the other guys try to figure it out. It kind of reminded of how Phil would refuse to call timeouts when virtually every other coach in the NBA would have, because he preferred to let them sort it out.

It may have cost them these first 2 games. But I think it will pay dividends later in the season.

The Lakers strengths:

ball handling, fast break, perimeter D

the Lakers weaknesses

3 point shooting, front court size and depth, experience/maturity.

I think we have SEEN All those things play out exactly the way I predicted in the first 2 games.

I actually predicted they would be 3-3 after their first six games- which is a very reasonable expectation considering their need to gel- but if Rondo and Ingram are suspended that does make it tougher.

Suns should be an easy win obviously. I thought they would split those 2 spurs games, and PROBABLY think they still will- but, the antics of last night will likely make that tougher unless they appeal suspensions to keep playing in the short term.

Twolves game will be interesting- thatll be must-watch TV.
