The Celtics are playing lousy. I blame Kyrie. But something needs to change. Anyone else think that former dookie for The Unibrow is a fair trade? Get your act together Boston, damn!

Ha, ha ha.....they'd want Irving, another contract, and multiple of Danny's 1st rounders he's been stockpiling.....the price would be higher with them IMO than another team because they know he has been accumulating assets.....

"I think there is also a fairly decent chance Sexton becomes a Johnny Flynn level bust." : @tlance

Sexton is 19 and a month into his pro career.

Sexton had 29 last night. Flynn had 29 once in his career. Flynn scored 20 or more points less than 10 times in his career. Sexton has done it 4 times already.

In my mind, the most impressive thing Sexton is doing is shooting at almost a 47% clip from the field, and, albeit in a small sample size, 48% from 3 (which will undoubtedly drop). A 19 year old guard showing that efficiency so early in his career is extremely encouraging. It shows the game is not too big for him and that he has the necessary skills. For comparisons sake, last years #1 and #2 drafted point guards- Ball and Fultz, finished at 36% and 40.5% respectively. If Sexton finishes at or around 44% or higher it would be a GREAT rookie season

throw any Flynn comparison out the fucking window, into the garbage, wherever except any basis in reality.

My question would be: is he a PG? 29 pts and 2 assists isn't the best stat line for his supposed best game if he's a PG. You know you aren't setting up teammates well if Clarkson out-assists you. He's the king of me-first backup PGs.

I don't want that to sound anti-Cavs, as they have been playing tough of late and scoring some nice wins. I just think Sexton may be an undersized 2 guard (or combo guard at best) and they may still need a PG.

I stand by my 1st overly homeristic & absurd trade idea.

Ha ha, but seriously Irving's trade value is hurt by being a free agent at the end of the year. Would you want to extend with New Orleans without AD there? His value is almost reduced to an expiring contract.

AD is going to be near impossible to trade for. He's on my wish list for the Lakers, but it's going to take a ton of assets. Maybe if the Lakers think they can get Durant as a free agent, they could offer multiple 1sts and 2-3 young prospects (Ingram, Kuzma), but the trade would need to happen during the season to take advantage of someone like KCP's expiring contract to make the salary work (and that still may not interest the Pelicans). It will likely take AD saying he wants out in advance of his free agent season.

not so sure about THAT one, Bud. I get he's Kyrie and all, but I'd certainly be asking for more...

Oh I know it's gonna take a lot for any team to get AD outta NO. And I don't see Ainge giving up the assets to get him to Boston.

What he needs to work on is finishing at the rim. He is very explosive but doesnt quite have the size of RW. He tends to get blocked a lot, (well at least by Capela and McGee). His mid-range is exceptional, which is crazy bc that was one of his weaknesses. He was 8-10 from mid-range last night...8-10. You dont see that from a veteran let alone a rookie. He has excellent energy too, that’s why I compare him to RW, he just doesnt have the size or explosiveness RW has. His shooting, mid-range/3 pt is already better than RW in a small sample size. He is only attempting close to 2 3 pts a game but at a 46% clip

When a player who has historically not been a great shooter, suddenly becomes an exceptional shooter, you should except a significant regression to mean.

Sextion has shot 57% from 3 in November. Perhaps he has turned into the greatest shooter in NBA in history but I wouldn't be the house on it.

I put you to bed like Tywin put Joffrey to bed. LOL

Then reply to any of my posts earlier and address the issues raised.

You won't. You will just change the subject, ignore, or deflect.

Why the Lakers?

They aren't going to be a top 3 seed.....
As I mentioned yesterday, it's because the Lakers are the most frustrating team to see the Kings lose to. If the Kings keep moving forward and become actual title contenders, they will have to go through the Lakers on their way to a championship.

yah his 3 pt shooting is still the weakest part of his game. he just doesnt ttake that many attempts per game... too small of a sample size

Kemba started out bad from 3 though too....i think Fox and Kemba are solid comps for what I hope Sexton will become.
