The 2nd Latvian goalie has let in 5 goals on 12 shots. Obviously failing at channeling his inner Arturs Irbe.

I really dislike that Nike training commercial.
:thumb: agreed! I change the channel every time that POS commercial comes on....which has been a lot!!!

EDIT: I was thinking of the wrong commercial. It that's awful Gatorade bars commercial that makes me what to throw things at the TV.

Really nice to see countries like Denmark and Switzerland starting to be more competitive with some of the more traditional hockey powerhouse counties, but man do countries like Latvia still have a long way to go. I just realized that Germany is not in the tournament this year. I guess they got relegated last year and should be up playing with the big boys again next year.

On the flip, the Czechs and Slovaks have regressed terribly to the point where even re-merging the two countries probably wouldn't help much.

That story line is pretty surprising to me. To go from a gold medal to playing in the relegation game. I figured they would drop off significantly with the loss of those 3 big stars from last year but didn't see this coming. Thought maybe they would end up 5th or 6th maybe.
The Danes story is a great one though and they are fun to watch. Well coached and work their asses off.

TORONTO — Hockey Canada says it will further evaluate its ticket prices and sales procedures before hosting another world junior hockey championship in Vancouver and Victoria in 2019.

Crowds for non-Canadian games at Toronto's Air Canada Centre have been sparse through the first four days of this year's tournament. Even with Canada in action, only the Boxing Day matchup against Russia resembled a sellout at the ACC.

In Montreal, where Group A has played its preliminary-round games, attendance hasn't been anywhere close to a sellout for the first six games at the 21,288-seat Bell Centre.

"If we knew then what we know now, we might not have gone back-to-back, but that has no bearing on the fact we're very pleased that we came to Toronto and Montreal," Scott Smith sai

Finland was feeling pretty good with the Danes leading 4-1, but the Swiss tied it up 4-4 in the 3rd period and won the game in a shootout. Switzerland are through and Finland is off to the relegation round.

That doesn't help me. Planning on buying 6 (1 3 year old) tickets to the New Years eve classic in Vancouver.
