Kinda funny that Russia has a team full of 19 year olds this year and they're taking runs at Canada and taunting the bunch like a bunch of immature brats. They've had the same coach for the several years now so I have to think that's part of the game plan.

Malmo was like that as well. Canada's group was playing at the smaller arena, and if it wasn't a Team Canada game, the barn was completely vacant.
You got two games with one ticket though, so a few times I would show up to see the early game with maybe 100 other people.
got to see Pastrnak and Tryamkin befre they were drafted in that setting.

for this tourney so far, most impressed with Barzal, Jost and Speers

Some of these games have been absolute dogs though and with the ticket prices they are charging, I don't blame fans for staying away.
Especially in Toronto, I think fans are just tapped out of sports money. With two major teams making conference finals, a smaller team making a final, increased Leaf interest, the WCH, WJC and the Winter Classic (tickets still available) I think it may be a case of too much in too short a time.

$229 for a World Junior ticket in Toronto?!? I don't think I played that much for a 2010 Olympic hockey game in Vancouver.

/Granted, it was Finland versus Belarus...

Yeah, the Canada games have been well attended in Toronto, non-Canada games not so much. Once they get into the medal round, likely all games will be sold out or very close.

I think BBB hit the nail on the head earlier, the Toronto sports fan has been tapped out as far as sports entertainment spending is concerned this year. Leafs, Blue Jays, Raptors, TFC, Grey Cup game (don't laugh), there's only so much money to go around.

Looking forward to the USA - Russia game today, I hope the Americans spank the Russkies like nobody's business.

Grey Cup game (don't laugh)
I'm not, it's there and I know a lot of Hamilton ppl made the drive for the game and they do make up a significant-enough portion of the sports-attending public here. I also forgot the NBA ASG, which was pricier than everything we've mentioned combined.

Also worth mentioning that the Team Canada knockout round games were here just two years ago, with a guy named Connor McDavid on the team. The buzz then compared to now where we're only getting Canada's RR games is very noticeable.

Forgot to mention the World Cup of Hockey tourney in September as well (although I see BBB had it covered in his post above).
