put him in the minor league system
That is where he is going. He has a June 1 opt out date. The O's put themselves in good position with this deal.

The Orioles have acquired righty Miguel Castro from the Rockies, per a club announcement. A player to be named or cash will head back in return. To clear a 40-man spot, Baltimore designated righty Joe Gunkel for assignment.

D-F-A! D-F-A! (Oh dear... it's Jimenez's first start of the season, and I am already saying this?)

Advanced stats agree: His UZR/150 last year was -17.4, which is good for 2nd last on the team for those who have played >100 innings in the outfield.

However... I'd say that Kim's primary contribution to the team comes from the fact that he gets on base (0.382 OBP last year, vs. 0.317 for the Orioles as a whole and 0.322 for the entire MLB).

EDIT: Hmmm, another one-run win...

Kim was 3 for 4 but he cant play the field. thought: DH him at the low end of the order and let Gentry play the field. Now the DH position as a whole for Buck is a homerun hitter but a DH for hits and OBP could sum up a the outfield in which Kim cant play

True but your point was Kim isn't a good fielder which is true, my point was to keep Kim's bat in the lineup and have another player field his position. The choice for Buck at DH would be a 250 homerun hitter or a 300 hitter

I can understand why people don't like Kim in the OF. But as a pinch hitter only? That is absurd. The guy that can work the count and can get on base like Kim needs to be more than a pinch hitter. I still don't understand your obsession with hating the guy ever since we signed him.
As for Smith, he's been good so far but remember, Rickard was the same way last year. He started off hot and then cooled off after April when teams started figuring him out.
