Curious, what do you think of the Jaylon Smith pick now? I would think that you have to feel, with how close the Cowboys were, that an extra guy who could have produced this year would have been big.perhaps, but Dallas fans took a lot of grief last year with the Elliot pick at 4
I tought Jaylon was worth the pick at the time; he's just so talented that you have to hope he can fully recover. A year later, some decent news (the nerve is regenerating), but his ability to get on the field is still very much a question.
I wouldn't be surprised if the Hawks took him late, like in the 5th or later.Literally the first thing you see when you go to CBSsports NFL draft site is Rang talking about Cook over Fournette and they've been talking him up for weeks. SI also has him going before Fournette. Both are almost top 10 locks at this point.
Kamara, McCaffrey and Samuel are the wild cards in the draft imo. I would say Mixon is the super wild card.
I just think in hindsight, when you look at how close the Cowboys were to at least hosting the NFCCG, you have to wonder if things would have been different if they had used that pick to help 2016.I tought Jaylon was worth the pick at the time; he's just so talented that you have to hope he can fully recover. I could see him going anywhere from rd3 to undrafted.I wouldn't be surprised if the Hawks took him late, like in the 5th or later.

Myles Jack (Jaguars, 36th overall) played all 16, but not as a starter. 18 tackles, 1/2 sack.
The juice would have to be worth the squeeze. I'm sure that anyone interested in him will grill him pretty hard to find out where his head is at.I could see him going anywhere from rd3 to undrafted.
I've seen people mention that he fits the Chiefs profile if he has been reformed but at some point you can on too much baggage. Seattle seems like a possible spot. Lots of contenders with good locker rooms might consider him but not before the top 5 RBs are off the board.
I was down with the Jaylon Smith pick then and now. This guy is an awesome football player, and from what I read, an awesome person too. Look forward to him and Lee playing together. Having said that...I'm not sure Smith beats the packers and thus can't say another selection in round 2 woulda. I think Dallas defense played with great effort all season, but an edge rusher and better talent in the d-backfield was what was missing to me.Curious, what do you think of the Jaylon Smith pick now? Yuk
Not a good indicator of taking a flier on a guy with health issues
With rookie contracts the way they are, it makes sense.I feel like we've come full circle a bit with running backs.
People used to be worried about the shelf life of a running back but it seems like the shelf life of most players is so slim right now that people are just drafting talent again.

yep...those assumptions will get you beat more often than not. Character and desire to be the best is what matters. Dallas hit a home run last draft with Elliott and Prescott. Not because he wasn't worthy of an early pick, it was more about the assumption that any quality RB could produce very well behind that line and the pick might have been better utilized elsewhere (defense, QB). Of course, they hit pretty well on QB later, lol.
