2017 Gavitt Games

The pairings should be announced fairly soon. I know by this time last year we already knew who was playing who.

Rumors are circulating that Marquette is traveling to Minnesota this year. That would be a great game, but also torture for @mr.hockey4242.

I'll update when the announcements come out officially.

Rumors I heard is Gophers coming our way.

It's been confirmed Marquette is having a home game this year so if it happens it's at the BC!

How's Marquette looking like next year? I know they lost some guys to graduation, but haven't followed closely on whether or not they've lost guys to transfer, or who they've brought in via transfer.

They lost Duane Wilson which is fine.

Didn't add a grad transfer at least yet. Weren't many realistic options. Wanted that Russian from Rice but Milwaukee coupled with being a catholic school..wasn't happening.

So it's Howard, Rowsey, Cheatam and Hauser as the main returnees.

Elliot, Cain and John are freshman who should contribute off the bat. Anim red shirted and indications are he learned a lot.

Froling the stretch 7 footer won't be eligible for the Gavitt game he was a mid season transfer.

We will have to see. Lost all our main experience. Offense won't be as good but 3 best shooters are back. WAY more size which should make the D considerably better and allow Hauser to play the 3 which is bad news for opponents.

The team as constructed now is going to be hit or miss. When Frolling is eligible they will be better. But has potential to be pretty average to bad.

Could be considerably better then last year if all the big ifs hit. Frolling and Anim as well as Cain /Elliot who have blown up late as recruits. John will be huge as a defender/rebounder.

2018 is the year assuming Wojo doesn't completely strike out. That team could be dynamite.

That's what I've seen as well. I've seen the Gophers potentially playing Xavier, Marq or Creighton. I'd be fine with either one of those, but would prefer Marq.

How do you feel Providence will do next year? I think for all the hosting teams, we probably have the toughest opponent possible, which is a good thing. Providence returns everyone and has a solid class coming in. Theoretically, they should be somewhat better than last year, which would put them right back in the tournament. I like this game. Gophers now have two true road games(Providence & Arkansas) two neutral site games(two of Bama, BYU, UMass) and now for sure I'd bet a home game in the ACC/B1G Challenge. I really like how this OOC schedule is setting up.

I actually considered going to the Indiana game. But I'm not going since the Hoosiers will be so bad.
