I'm nervous about what Hayden has left in the tank but I'm thrilled to see the Steelers make a move!
Somewhat of a bounce-back season last year but still needs to shake that injury bug. Would love to see him start week 1 vs the Browns lolol... But I bet Tomlin will bring him along slowly until he's up to speed. 2 weeks of prep for the 1st game. Not sure how possible that is. Lake & Butler have gone to great extent to simplify the schemes on the back end so he shouldn't have much of an issue picking it up.I'm nervous about what Hayden has left in the tank but I'm thrilled to see the Steelers make a move!
Well. They broke the bank. 3 years, 27 million. 9 a year.
So lets talk CB depth chart now @ATL96Steeler ... Who gets the axe? I heard rumors of Gay getting work at FS/SS.
Here's how I'd rank the 12 currently rostered...
1. Burns
2. Haden
3. Cockrell
4. Sensabaugh
5. Hilton
6. Sutton
7. Gay
8. Allen
9. Phillips
10. Dixon
11. Shephard
12. Golson
I would definitely be on board with this, but put Sutton at 6. Like we said, there's little chance they let their 3rd Rd Pick hit the PS.I would rank the top 8 like this
1. Burns
2. Haden
3. Gay/Hilton, (starting slot)
4. Sensabaugh, (inside/outside next man up)
5. Cockrell, (outside 2nd man up)
6. Hilton/Gay (didn't get the starting slot job)
7. Sutton
8. Allen

Maybe the Haden signing means an end to Cockrell? I'd rather keep him around for insurance, but if Coty Sensabaugh can play just as good for $1mil less then its a no-brainer to cut ties with Ross.
FWIW... Found this little tidbit on Haden's injury history the past 2 seasons
A concussion essentially took his '15 season which is scary. I don't now if its his first, but one of that magnitude (9weeks before being placed on IR) is awfully concerning.
Thanks, but I think we're good.Congrats on a good pick up.
Hope to see the Steelers in the playoffs again.
No better time to see at Pats/Steelers match-up then January.
Of course...it would be even better if there were two teams with 6 Lombardi's.
Thanks, but I think we're good.
I think we could even use a little separation from the rabble up at 7.

Phillips and Shephard are pretty much interchangeably to me. Haden's injuries worry me a lot, however, I think he is now the 3rd best CB on our team. How many CBs do you think they'll keep? 6? Last year they had 5, I'm t hinking with the talent we have at the position, could we do 6 CBs and and 4 SS/FS? If they only go with 5, I have a hard time believing that Sutton will go to the PS, but I also have a hard time believe they chose Sutton over Gay
Haden is being paid starter money. It's him and Burns with Hilton in the slot.
Sutton and Sensabaugh are safe. Beyond that anyone could get cut coming up. But Gay probrably doesn't have to worry/
So that's 6 CB's. Might keep one more.
