I'd give the inside track to Mahtook, since he could also move CF Leonys Martin to Toledo or San Juan or Tijuana. At least prospects Gerber and Stewart aren't trying to move an All-Star aside to get a spot.

How do YOU think LF will turn out for Detroit? Will they settle for one of these less than stellar MLB experienced players or go straight to Stewart or Gerber, their closest to ready OF prospects? Or do you see a trade or free agent signing before April?

I agree...but some media are listing Leonys Martin as the starting CF. With a .174 BA in 2017, I don't know why. I'd give Martin a shot at 4th outfielder, but I'd rather keep my fingers crossed that Stewart or Gerber win the job in LF.

Gerber sounds more than capable of being a solid defensive player.

He's hit well so far in the minors, could be the right fielder once they move Nicky C.

Stewart can hit, when he makes contact. Not sure he'll be much in the field. But I think his bat could find him a spot. Rather have him at DH than Victor. But we're stuck.

Martin can't afford to lose any speed if his career is going to continue. And that might've already happened.
