As for Granderson, I was looking at him as a 4th outfielder, not a starter. Granted he does strike out a lot, but even with his .212 BA...his OBP was higher than a lot of the Tiger starters, because he gets walks. If nothing else, Granderson could have also filled in as a late inning defensive replacement for Castellanos.

Article about Iglesias at Baseball Reference suggesting a trade to the Padres. Not sure why, they just got Freddy Galvis (who is a better hitter). Nice part of the article though was the realization that Iglesias isn't going to bring that much in return...perhaps someone listed around 25-30 as a SD prospect.

I wonder if Detroit tries to sign Curtis Granderson if all other teams pass on him? He made $15mil last year. If he expects that, at age 37, and coming off a .212 avg year....he'll be sitting home. I'm wondering if he'd come back to Detroit for about a 1/3 of that and be a 4th outfielder? He can still hit a homerun every so often.

Blue Jays signed him to platoon in LF....I guess they think he still has something left. He can play all 3 OF spots and I like his OBP. For $5mil, they got a good deal. If he bombs, it won't cost them much.
