Gerber sounds more than capable of being a solid defensive player.

He's hit well so far in the minors, could be the right fielder once they move Nicky C.

Stewart can hit, when he makes contact. Not sure he'll be much in the field. But I think his bat could find him a spot. Rather have him at DH than Victor. But we're stuck.

Martin can't afford to lose any speed if his career is going to continue. And that might've already happened.

Gerber is old enough (25?) to be rushed this year. If he muffs his chance at a roster spot this spring, I see him moving down the list of outfielders pretty fast. Stewart has time...if they have to make do with ''fill-ins'' until he gets a couple of months at Toledo - no harm. Daz Cameron is next year...which may be perfect to coincide with Castellanos moving on. Nick C is making $6mil this year and has arbitration next winter. If his outfield work matches his 3B work - and he throws in 150+ strikeouts, he could pave his way into being a player who could be used to bring younger prospects. IMO, the Tigers have been more than patient with him.
