Yeah, if the Tigers want decent prospects for Verlander, they will have to "buy" them -- at about $10-$12 million a year for the next two seasons.

In a pure salary dump move, they would be scraping the bottom of the barrel in the other team's minor league system.

Seriously, how great was that move for the Indians? Their two major competitors in the AL now have pitchers that they own. Anything can happen in the postseason, but I'm feeling pretty good about their chances.
