i guess i thought the opt out was after next year thus giving the tigers at least some leverage----- but if its after this year i get it.

why would you stay there? Detroit is unfortunately in for a long and painful rebuild. I mean- they were a good team for a while but constantly making win-now moves and having your entire roster begin aging out at the same time is not good.

at least now they might accept the fact a top down rebuild is necessary.

Agree, it seems they could have gotten more. But one month from now, they were probably looking at getting nothing at all.

Grayson Long is 8-8 with a 2.69 ERA between A+ and AA this year. #9 prospect in a so-so Angels organization.

They're going to hurt them for years to come, and with Mr I gone and his kids running the joint, I wouldn't be surprised that they want to bring their payroll more inline with revenue.
