Yeah, thank you Mike Ilitch. I loved the guy and his efforts to build a WS-caliber team regardless of the costs. But the length of the Verlander and Cabrera contracts, and giving a 4-year deal to a 35-year old V-mart were misguided. The team is paying the price now. I know he wanted all three to retire as Tigers, and that was part of the motivation.
Any team in the AL could beat the Indians. The MLB playoffs are rife with crapshootidity.
When you go "Balls Out" to win it there are ramifications when you don't. Possible lean times for the Tigers ... I will still support them.
Does doug realize that Verlander has never pitched on a WS winning team?
There's a difference between "balls out" and "brains out."

Yep, we can relate.
2006: Tigers - 95 regular season wins, Cardinals - 83 regular season wins. Cards win WS.
1987: Tigers - 98 regular season wins (most in MLB that year), Twins - 85 regular season wins. Twins win ALCS and WS.
Pitchers get hot. Hitters get cold. Pitchers can't throw a ball to a base. And so it goes.
Sad and funny at the same time ...
Either has porcello. Or David (big game) priceDoes doug realize that Verlander has never pitched on a WS winning team?
We have been in 2 WS since 1984The Tigers haven't even won a championship in his lifetime, but when "1948" is all you've got, you have to dig your feet in and get after it.
No Ortiz and his famous milk shakes. No, but the Red Sox do have players from the 2013 and 2007 WS Championship teams.
So. 0 fer. 3.... when's the freaking parade???The Indians were in the 2016, 1997, 1995 and 1954 WS.
