AZ needs a better closer and a lefty reliever. Their problem is....a real thin minor league system.

Sounds like a great team for the Tigers to trade MLB talent for prospects with. Is Dumbrowski running the front office remotely?

Someone needs to stop Avila from making trades

I'm an Indians fan, so from my perspective, someone needs to encourage him to trade. A lot. Fuck quality, go for quantity. He'll make it up with volume.

Got to go doug @ co.. We will have to discuss your in-depth knowledge of the D'Back's minor league system later. LOL

Howdy doug and co. I could tell that you were not completely happy with the return the Tigers got for JD. Perhaps Avila could/should have garnered more for him, I won't disagree.
Let's just assume that YOU made the trade with AZ. With your vast knowledge of the D'Backs farm system (and their major league team) who would you have been seeking from them in a JD trade. This is just hypothetical...so don't say that you'd trade him to another team for better players. Step up. (If you want...I'll go first. Just ask)

Nope, this has Al Avila's stench all over it. "Let's trade for prospects, but let's get those prospects from a team whose minor league system is almost as bad as ours." You go, Al !!!!!!

Avila could have salvaged this trade if he had pushed AZ harder for their top pitching prospects. Granted they aren't world beaters, but Banda, Clarke, or DuPlantier - replacing Alcantara in the trade would have made the trade a little easier to take. Alcantara sounds like a glove first guy, they HOPE develops into a hitter.

Bottom line...ownership is letting a GM, who has played a big part in sinking the Tiger ship, be in charge of the crew trying to bail out the water...with buckets with holes in the bottom.

BTW doug, what would you have done? Your knowledge of D'Backs' prospects I am sure is voluminous.
With possible trade of Justin Wilson and other Tigers possible....any clues on who they need to focus on?

If the Indians keep losing, doug will have to change his schtick to degrading the Twins. I doubt he will have a problem...he appears to work off of a script where the opposing team's name can easily be changed. For years it was the Royals, now its the Indians....but the script really has not changed much...same old stuff.

84 wins could be enough to take the AL Central.

This garbage twins pitching staff is still only 1 game out of a division title. Unreal.

And it's not like they have some elite offense either

Yup. The Central is horribly mediocre. Indians staff has gone from top notch, to simply above average. While their lineup has gone from potent, to non-existent.

81 wins could be enough to win the Central unless somebody steps up to take control of the division.
