Yeah, I mean... being a White Sox fan, I know all about GM's that don't know when to give up. We've tried to squeeze the last ounce out of baseball out every big name who was on his way out of baseball, in hopes of making a pennant run.

It never ceases to amaze in sports that guys who strike gold once can be held onto by teams for years for years by teams despite them being utterly shit at their jobs. The Whiteys have been back to the playoffs once since 2005 and had only 4 seasons of +.500 baseball and yet somehow Kenny Williams is in charge of their baseball ops.
