I am sure I will catch hell for asking this, but I am curious Doug...what are your thoughts on Avila as GM? I think cutting Dombroski was a bad move

Cutting a guy that learned his skill in the White Sox organization is always a dumb move. Also, the Tigers are like a little league team in the sense that you get the boss's kid on your team by default.

Could really use some of those creamy Wade Davis cutters. Unless my math is off he has a sub 1 ERA the last couple years if you count postseason innings.

Pretty sure Pat Leylands career is over. So are Richard Zumaya's, Colin Kaline's, Jake Porcello's and I assume Daniel Fields. Not sure about either of Gene Roofs sons.

Alex Avila a nice backup at this point. But there's a bit of nepotism going on, regardless of if Avila is a solid player.

Hell, they've drafted both of the TV announcers sons.
