Herrera has the same problem. His fastball averages 95-98 and his changeup is 90-92. And he relies on those 2 pitches, throwing a token curve 8% of the time.

I'd personally like to see more sliders from him. That's a good pitch when he commands it. Isn't diminishing in relation to the fastball like say the change.

I have not seen or heard any announcement that K-Rod is no longer the team's closer...so I suspect he'll get another shot, the next time a closer situation is needed. I am sure the decision has gone above Ausmus, but if K-Rod blows another game, Ausmus will take a LOT of heat.
